Uncle Rico's daughter is on Twitter saying "F" Notre Dame and "F" Notre Dame football. Also "Fire Brian Kelly". Nice.
George, Think she is reacting to her dad being fired. http://www.und.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/092516aad.html
ND <t>George's tag line from movie fame is very appropriate in this situation. <br/> <br/> This is about business, it's not personal.</t>
This will sound snarky...and I don't mean it that way. But ND shoulda left Purdue on their schedule. :?
Her F'n father has been F'n ND football for a couple of years. That incompetent will likely be getting full pay for the rest of the season. We're not only better off without him, but better off without the whole F'n family.
On Purdue a serious comment. I don't think it was a case of ND dropping Purdue, I seem to remember that the Purdue AD at the time was looking ahead to the 9 game B1G schedule and said that economics was the factor. Purdue couldn't afford to go to Notre Dame every other year, they needed that to be a home game to generate more revenue. I don't think it was ever ND just called Purdue and said we don't want to play you guys any more. As far as the reported tweet by Van Gorder's daughter I'll give her a pass on that, it's no doubt been a very tough time for BVG and his family. While he's failed at ND, I don't think it's anything else than him being a bad fit. I am sure he didn't take the job lightly and probably put in a lot of hours trying to put a great defense on the field. I wish he'd been successful, if he had and we were running a "NFL" Style defense successfully then it would have been a bonus, top rated players want to play in systems that prepare them for the NFL. Fans, like me, while liking it if our players go to the NFL, job one is to have a successful college defense and win games, anything regarding players being prepared for the NFL is just a bonus. I see that Greg Hudson will take over the defense, but frankly I don't really expect this defense to suddenly become a very good defense or even an average defense. It's too late this year for that IMHO. But BVG had become too big a focal point for everybody, it's distracting to say the least so it was best for him to go. I'd like somebody to come up with a name of a Coordinator who was replaced after the start of the season and whose replacement turned the offense/defense around that season?
One thing Hudson will do is to stop making the defense about BVG and get the focus back on making the players better. I'm sure they will simplify the scheme, no way at this point in the season that they can make major changes in the defense or make freshmen into sophomores.
So now that Schmidt and BVG are both gone, who will the morons on the ND boards fixate on? BK I assume.
Well it's certainly a feeding frenzy on Kelly with everything he says being put in the worst light. He is a dead coach walking, unless this season turns around starting with Syracuse. But it's what you get when you lose 4 out of your last 5 games and all of them being awful defense. He could have made a move after the bowl game, but he waited till now. His own job is now on the line.
I'd take the Hatter. I saw a stat earlier today that impressed me. It was something like the list of SEC coaches with consecutive 8 win seasons. The list read something like Bear Bryant, Phil Fulmer, Steve Spurrier and then Les Miles... He may be crazy, but that doesn't mean he's wrong. Now LSU will chase Art Briles and the cat at Houston. ND will hopefully make a HR hire, but our record of doing that is pretty shitty.
