Well the Irish Basketball owns Toledo! Women beat them on Wed night in a very close game, and the Men beat them on Thursday night in OT. Neither game was pretty though. Irish Men's Soccer are done now that they have lost to Wright State in the 1st round of the NCAA tourney. Mediocre season comes to an end. Irish Womens Soccer has a tall task in going to South Carolina to face the Gamecocks in the NCAA 2nd round. Irish Hockey is on the road to East Lansing for a weekend series with Michigan State. Irish are in 2nd place in the Big 10 and MSU is in 3rd place.
So the story is Chase Claypool vs the BC defense which isn't supposed to be good and the ND defense vs the 490lbs of NFL Class RB's AJ Dillion and David Bailey.
3-0 Doerer FG...the guy everybody thought would likely suck and lose his job to somebody who was playing dorm football. He's been the biggest turnaround of any ND player I can remember.
well...brutal pounding drive by BC, running the ball and then a big pass play to the 1 yd line and they run it in for the 7-6 lead. Sigh...looks like this is going to be very tough game, BC bringing the fire to the game.
Irish stop BC and get a last minute drive aided by BC pass interference and get another Jonathon Doerer FG 16-7 at halftime.
Kyle Hamilton with the pick and Book with the TD to Chris Finke. 40-7 Hamilton has to be a freshman AA
Like I said, we kicked their arse! GO IRISH! Now, Stanford...,you want some a this???? We’re comin for ya!!!
Goodbye to some great seniors. Always good to see the seniors go out with a win. Had to be a great day for their families, just think about Chris Finke. He comes as a walkon, he gets a scholarship. That saves his family 180K or there abouts. Then he has a good run, and scores on senior day. Also reportedly a very good student, will have a grad degree as well. Go Irish!
By the way for those who may be interested, ND had a total of 493yds, BC had 1170 and their star RB Dillon had 14 carries for 56yds. Fredo started out giving annoying big brother and then got put in his place.
