Lots of talk about Bob Diaco and Boston College. I really would hate to lose him before the NC game, but if he gets the job then he'd really have to leave and get started on putting a staff together and then there is recruiting. That's one thing about the NFL if your team is in the playoffs your assistants can't even interview for another job till their team loses.
 Steve Addazio is the new head coach at Boston College. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/bc-hires-addazio-head-coach-020009104--ncaaf.html
ND <t>We'll personally I'm glad Diaco didn't go to BC. Sooner or later he will go somewhere as he is too good of a coach to stay a coordinator forever. Let's hope it is a couple years down the road and he stays with ND as long as possible.</t>
Kelly wins Home Depot Coach of the Year. There are a number of other COY awards out there, and there are certainly lots of deserving coaches. That said I'm glad our guy won.
Tyler Eifert wins the Mackey award over the dude from Stanford. Well deserved. Congrats to Sids old paperboy!
I was trying to talk ball with some Tide fans. We're all excited to see the match up of the Alabama OL vs the ND defensive front 7. It's funny because they were curious about our depth, saying that the way they'll get us is to wear out our starting front line and grind away on backups or tired starters. I explained that we actually get more talented when we rotate, we're just really young. All in all, it was quite good football talk so long as I don't ever try to say that we have a clear advantage in any one area. They kinda lose their mind when I suggest that. By and large, I agree. There's a lot of questions that will be answered because we just don't know. Their kick return teams are better than ours, but you don't match up return vs return. Our coverage teams are quite good.. but I don't see us breaking any long returns vs them. When I mentioned that one advantage we do have is that they do not have anyone who can cover Eifert, they just laughed. It appears they believe Moseley can eliminate any TE in America. I guess we'll see about that too.
Piggybacking on Corey's comments, I'm concerned how our D front 7 matches up against their experienced and BIG O-line. If we let #42 run like he did vs. Georgia, we're in big trouble. I'm comfortable that we have sufficient team speed to play with anyone, and after the way our DBs covered the two USC WRs, I feel that our pass coverage is adequate. On the other side of the ball, I hope we can establish our running game vs. a D front 7 full of guys who will be playing on Sunday. Re: Eifert, I hope they single-cover him. That would be to our advantage.
Terry, No not "The Sack", I have the "Gut Check" and "The Play". I try to limit it to big plays in National Championship games. 8)
KP... Tennessee fans have to get their giggles anywhere they can find them these days. Do you have one of: The Air Ball That's where Stabler threw the ball out of bounds to stop the clock on 4th and goal against Tennessee.
LOL KP isn't 'small timey' like a few other Tide fans. I'd expect he only celebrates the NC teams and portraits. In case people think I'm pulling their leg about 'The Sack' If you're really interested, I'm sure I can even find plenty of links for you to purchase some prints *edit* In fact, I'll help you out. The 20th Anniversary Edition of 'The Sack' is going for $3000. http://www.jemsonline.com/inc/sdetail/18129/15121
re: Moseley He can't cover Eifert one-on-one and he wouldn't be able to cover Stanford's TE either... http://www.gostanford.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/ertz_zach00.html
Ties are better than losses and we have had too many of those lately. A couple more years of the same will have ties put up on a pedestal with a caption: "The good ole days"
Tom, that was the result of Stabler's mistake, a tie with Tennessee. As Coach Bryant said "like kissing your sister".
