So you think the Irish would have beaten Auburn. Auburn is the team that beat both Ga. and Ala. the two teams that played for the "championship." So just what makes you think that? Was it the marvelous effort in Miami, the biannual swan dive in Palo Alto or the way they steamrolled LSU in the Citrus Bowl?
As far as I can tell ND and UCF had only one common opponent, Navy. Irish won by 7 UCF won by 10.

There were over 70 FBS schools that played a WEAKER schedule. Why there must have been a number of teams that posted undefeated records. Why not name 3 or 4 to validate that statement.

Gipper, when Alabama played Auburn they were ranked #6, when UCF played Auburn they were ranked #7. They had lost to Georgia in the SEC Championship game, hence the change. It's obvious you don't believe that Alabama belonged in the playoffs and Central Florida did. I get it. I'm tired of trying to explain why I disagree, so I'm going to bow out of this "discussion" . Carry on if you wish. 8)

<t>Notre Dame landed its top defensive end prospect in the 2019 class as Nolan Catholic (Texas) standout NaNa Osafo-Mensahâ€￾ has committed to the Irish. No, I can't pronounce his name but I'm sure opposing team QBs will remember it.</t>

Really big pickup for the Irish, Kudo's to Clark Lea and Mike Elston with assist from Hunter Spears.

I'd say that the odds are less than 40% that he's at ND in Aug. 2019. How many times have we seen top D linemen poached by other schools?

Still no movement on the 2019 QB search. The Mertz kid still is showing a Wisconsin Verbal, the Irish are still trying to get him to South Bend. It has been reported that he and his family were big ND fans and if McNamara hadn't jumped on the Irish offer right away that Mertz would likely be our Qb in the 2019 class. Irish not ready to move on to other targets yet.

From what I can gather the OL from Ohio Zeke Correll is the most likely next commit, but you never know till they do it and then you have to wait it out to see if they sign the LOI's...only have to wait till Dec now though.

Irish Softball, eliminated Michigan from the NCAA's this past weekend but got smoked by Kentucky 18-0 in 2 games to they are done. Irish Baseball is in the ACC tourney but then they take pretty much everybody and I doubt if we'll do much. Everybody wonders when Swarbrick will say enough is enough and fire Aoki.

He said he's seeking a graduate degree that ND doesn't offer, but I just see this as a way of getting one step closer to 85. We're at 86 right now.

Irish land a punter from Hillcrest Alabama, Jay Bramblett. I've read some high praise for this young man. I hope he's good, you need a good punter. I really like those Australian punters that are showing up everywhere in college football, they seem really versatile. Can do that Rugby style punt that can roll a long way as well as boom them the old fashioned way. He's not one of those though.

If he plays at Hillcrest Tuscaloosa, that team is coached by the son of Carson's great Aunt. I could probably find out a thing or two about the kid. Is he walking on this year, or is he a commit for next year?

It is in Tuscaloosa. All the articles I've read indicate he's one of the best punters in his class. I hope so.

That's a good looking run. Plenty of bowl teams and some potential top caliber opponents on that slate.

That is a good schedule. At least 3 top 10 candidates.
