Aha! The rest of the story. It pays to hold off on judgement for a couple of days. The kid could still be guilty but at least now it is not open and shut.

I gotta feeling between the 2 cases:

    1. This one just might get ugly

    2. The case with the dipshits in the car is pretty much open and closed. Redfield is gone already. (I am guessing it was his gun). The younger players will be made to beg for their futures and to choose their peers more wisely.. They'll probably miss some time and life goes on.

I can't imagine the pot kids will play vs Texas or maybe even Nevada. I think they will have to finish with the courts, get their possibly light sentence such as deferred adjudication or something like that before ND will allow them to play. Not to mention they do have to go through some sort of process at ND as well.

Devin Butler, who now has "eye witness" accounts that counter the police version will unlikely play at all this year for the Irish as this will take some time to make it's way through the courts. I think it's possible it could take a year for it to be resolved one way or the other. He may never play college football again even if eventually he is found innocent or gets reduced to misdemeanor something.

    Tom Said...
I will not be surprised if this becomes framed as a Black kid being abused by a racist cop. I do agree with you that there is no good move other than to do what an officer asks you to do, running not an option you will be run down, resisting in any manner not an option you will be eventually be under control of the officer and your charges just went up a lot. You are just asking for trouble when you decide to not comply.

As someone who has taken a thumping or two from the boys in blue, even I agree that all you can do is just STFU and do what they say. You comply, you let them do their job and hopefully resume your evening. There will be bad apples, but you can't assume that they are all bad apples. People have to keep in mind that the police see way more bad apples than they see good ones. You never know if you're gonna get a bad cop, but you do know that acting the fool will always go bad for you and no one will want to listen no matter how many witnesses you have. Just deal with it and move on.

I used to laugh at that statement when I was a kid, but darn it, if there isn't anything in the world more true than that.
