C.J. Sanders. <t>C.J. Sanders. ,<br/> <br/> Kid is a burner. Punt returns, kick off returns, spreads the field. I like this one...a lot!</t>
re: C.J. Sanders <iframe width="640" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/gHJ0F4ugp10?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0"></iframe> This is kid is quick and tough. He runs track, but he's a football player who breaks tackles, can stop on a dime and get open. He's also an Ohio State legacy, so his family knows football. He'll play at Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, which is one of the Catholic school powers out here with good coaching, lots of money and a great schedule.
If he's already committed, why does he need to change schools and move to the west coast? To be seen by other high profile programs? I'll believe this kid's coming to ND when he signs his LOI.
That's a good question Sid. There is a lot of that going on in Basketball, we even had a kid from Houston transfer to some basketball academy I never heard of in Indiana. Not as common in football though.
Terry, I know the school in Indiana. It's LaLumiere. It's up north between Michigan City and LaPorte, closer to LaPorte. In my business travels, I used to see the signs pointing down a road toward the school. I always thought it was a small private Catholic school. It may be, but it sure claims some notable college BB players as alumni.
I just read an article about the Sanders kid in Bleacher Report. Apparently, the entire family is moving west, so it likely is not a move solely for the kid and his football future. I know I'm old when I read that his dad played college and pro ball.......in the 90s.
At the same time, Oklahoma State has had it's football practice time reduced by 1 day a week as punishment for poor academic performance by it's football team. Came close to receiving a bowl ban as well. Similar to UConn basketball being ineligible for the 2013 NCAA tournament due to academic issues. Congrats to all the Irish Student Athletes, but it's a team effort. The kids have to care and buy into that they aren't some entitled group who is exempt from being a student and the University has to provide the leadership and support, guidance and resources for them to be both outstanding students and athletes at the same time.
Hurry! Hurry! Hurry! Step right up! For the low, low price of $149.95, you can own a bonafide 2 ft. x 5 ft. roll of sod from the field at Notre Dame Stadium. http://www.und.com/grass/?hq_e=el&hq_m=683193&hq_l=8&hq_v=f6735eff30 After seeing the poor condition of the field during the Blue-Gold game, I think I'll pass.
Nick Martin was named to the Rimington Trophy Watch list, of course there are 64 players on the list so it's pretty much every returning starter in FBS. Also Irish in the Final 4 for Lacrosse in Baltimore. It's the ACC and Denver, with Duke, Maryland and Notre Dame. Women's Softball went down to UCLA out west. Men's baseball ended on a high note winning their final series of the year vs Pitt. Much unhappiness with Mike Aoki as the coach over on NDNation. ACC is of course a much better league than the old Big East and while we did very well in the Big East with Paul Mainiere as our coach since he left the program has gone way down and struggling mightily to recover. Lacrosse is our last chance for glory this academic year.
Nice article on 2015 QB commit Blake Barnett. I hope he sticks with the Irish Alabama is after him now. Blake Barnett
ND <r>Terry,<br/> <br/> The kid is good, real good and he will have a great career at ND no doubt. I'm pretty sure he's not going to change his mind and go elsewhere cause every time I've heard or read what he has to say he simply wants to be at Notre Dame because it's.... Notre Dame. <E></E></r>
Tim this will make you excited for the future. Quenton Nelson Puts up NFL combine numbers as a HS Sr. 6'5" 295 I really like the trend of the OL since Harry took over.
To put his 26 reps in the 225 lb. bench press in context Clowney did 21 reps Aaron Lynch 18 Former Miami punter Pat O'Donnell did 23. (I thought that they cleaned up that program)
Nelson lives near me and played for nearby Red Bank Catholic. One of his fellow line mates was Joe Klecko's kid and they absolutely destroyed everyone in the state. In other news, ND paid Chollie Weis $2.1 million in 2012. They paid the Brian Kelly, who actually coached, $1.5 million. It's good to be Chollie.
I'm shocked I tell you I'm shocked. Capt. Louis Renault: I'm shocked that there is gambling in this establishment. Waiter: Sir here are your winnings.
