This is an 18 hour old photo of C-4 that his pop just sent me. He doesn't look out of shape to me. Here is his account and remember, there's inside information and then there's INSIDE information. 8)

    Hey George…

We spoke to him last night right after he got back from being presented by the ND Monogram Club with his ND Lettered “RUDY” Jacket along with other players (see a photo sent to me last night by Cris Collinsworth who was there at the annual ceremony). The Italian kid from New Jersey is living the Irish Dream and practice is going well he said. He is 100% healthy and running with the ones at the Will and Mike inside position but when Manti gets back to 100% they will both be positioned side by side just like last year prior to his injury. He said their defense will be sick this season and the linebacking corp is setting up to be one of the most dynamic in the country thanks to Diaco.

Well no doubt you have the inside!! :)

I think Diaco was just trying to make sure the guys didn't start getting a big head. He had some critical things to say about Aaron Lynch as well. Esp with regards to a video that is on the net now, where he goes against Lombard and a RB in a drill. He side stepped Lombard and pushed him down and destroyed the RB. Everybody was saying what a beast Lynch was, Diaco said no he blew the drill. He was supposed to go directly at Lombard at the point of the attack, getting the RB was not the point of the drill.

Carlo told me that they are really deep on D this year and that the competition is fierce. They believe that they will have a premier defense.

I just got invited out for the USC game. He said I can round out his foursome on the Friday before the game.... the other two are Mike Golic and Cris Collinsworth.

I gotta go hit a bucket....

Think of how excited Golic and Collinsworth are to hear you will be playing with them.

I cringed slightly when Carlo's dad referred to the monogram jacket as the "Rudy" jacket. I don't fault him. He probably doesn't appreciate the significance to others of all the work and effort that goes into earning it. The jacket Rudy wore in the movie was not a monogram jacket. He had not earned it yet. Walk-ons get their monogram after their senior season IF they stick it out for four years. Just a piece of useless trivia.

Man down to 1 scholarship RB. Jonas Gray is done with a MCL strain. Good thing there is a InterHall tackle football program to draw from, other wise we'd be stuck. So we have Cierre Woods and 3 walkon's at RB. Cam McDaniel, the rookie from Texas, will be in the mix this fall. He had a good HS career at a very high level of football in the Dallas area. But that's a long way from being good at the college level. How do we end up like this? Last year it was 1 QB, this year it's 1 RB.

    RBs

<t>Now those RBs who decided not to take a scholie from ND in Feb will be walking the sidelines of the university they chose this upcoming season hoping to get in a game when they probably could have been getting tons of playing time at ND this season. <br/>

    Anymore good new Terry?</t>

Well it's being widely reported now that "unamed" sources are saying that Michael Floyd will do community service and attend counseling this spring and summer and be eligible for all games next year. Very surprising. I think it's the right thing to do of course, but ND has a history of being relatively (compared to other schools) harsh in these situations.

BGI is not confirming the Gray injury yet. They know nothing about it.

You beat me to the punch on the Floyd news! finally some good news this week for ND. I'm also hearing the injury to Jonas Gray injury may not be as serious as initially reported. Lets hope so. <br/>

That is good news. I just hope that Jonas can stay healthy and finally live up to his promise, we really need for him to step up this fall.

I see that the weather for the Spring game is going to be cold and wet. Every year I keep thinking I'll come up for the game, play a round of golf at Warren and enjoy a weekend. But I can't remember the last time it was really nice for the Spring game.

Last year going into the 2010 season there were 3 5* QB's who were going to be first time starters for big time programs. Garrett Gilbert at Texas, John Brantley at Fla, and Dayne Crist at ND. I wondered how things would pan out for these guys. Well Gilbert and Brantley had terrible seasons, and Crist was just ok before he got injured. Now through the Spring games, neither Gilbert or Brantley have done anything to make you think that they are ready to atone for last year. Crist is reportedly having a good spring and is solidly in the #1 slot ahead of Tommy Ree's. I hope he has a great spring game as prelude to an exciting and injury free year in 2011.

OK, I know Sid has been looking for ways to fill his time now that he is retiring. I think all he needs is a new project, and one where all his pals can help him out by staying for free or at a steeply discounted price! :)

LOL! Actually, that is a very good price for a building of that description in that location. The catch, as I see it, is threefold: 1) I'm guessing the intereior need a ton of work, likely six figures' worth; 2) the utility costs would be enormous; and 3) I don't recall that there is adequate parking.

If I could afford to buy it and fix it up, you guys would be welcome to stay for free..........but I can't. :(

I'd love to buy it. Family rumor is that dad got in trouble for being caught above the first floor in the LaSalle. Back in the 40's that was a no no.

I haven't seen my pal Patel the Pirate since his motel was burning with me in it and he forgot to wake me up...

I wish I had the money to grab that hotel too. We would have lot's of creative uses for it...

I went to the Astros vs Cubs game last night, Astros pounded the Cubs early and late. Jeff Samarzdja pitched the middle 3 innings, not very impressive. I hope he saved his 7M bonus, as to me it doesn't look like he's ever going to be a much of a MLB pitcher. Watching some of his old highlights from 2005/2006 it sure looks like he would have been a starter in the NFL at WR. Now it looks to me like he'll have a hard time staying in MLB and at best will be a journeyman pitcher.

IMO he made the right decision to play baseball. He can make a very nice living for a lot of years as a journeyman pitcher. Plus, if he can stay in or close to MLB into his early to mid 30s, I'm guessing he will make substantially more $ overall in his career than he could have made as a WR in the NFL over a shorter career, assuming that he could have stayed injury free in football.

I agree that he looks mediocre at this point, but he still is on the Cubs roster, so they must see something in him.
