I guess you saw that catch in Sat's highlights, you might be right about Stepherson he might find his way into the rotation. Too bad Watkins broke his arm, but he'll be well in time to work out with the team this summer and 100% by August camp.
Multi Talented Corey Robinson, incoming President of the Notre Dame Student Body 2016-2017, sang the National Anthem a Milwaukee Bucks game this past Sunday. Oh and he's missed almost a week of practice recovering from a concussion. http://collegespun.com/independents/notre-dame/video-notre-dame-wr-corey-robinson-david-robinsons-son-sings-national-anthem-before-nba-game
Baseball beats top 25 ranked Michigan 9-5, snapping a 9-game Michigan win streak. ND has won 8 of its last 9 games and 10 of its last 13. The team is 6-0 when senior Michael Hearne is the SP. Michigan had been giving up a NCAA-low 6.13 hits per 9 innings. ND had 14 hits in the game. The record now is 16-11.
Glad to see it turned around Sid, hopefully they can finish strong. Plus it's always great to beat Michigan, even if it's in tiddly winks!
Here's a first. ND OT and likely 1st round draft choice, Ronnie Stanley, signed a shoe contract...but not the typical shoe contract. He signed an endorsement deal with Zappos an Internet Shoe retailer, all kinds of shoes. I think Sid is a big customer! http://irish.nbcsports.com/2016/04/05/ronnie-stanley-signs-first-ever-nfl-endorsement-deal-with-zappos/
ND <t>Just saw where they changed the opening game against Texas from sat to Sunday. Don't know if that's good or bad for the Irish.</t>
I saw that Tim, I don't think it makes any difference to the teams, it's the first game of the season. It shortens the prep time/recovery time for the Nevada game though. It does screw with my travel plans though. I go to Austin all the time for the Labor Day weekend and I usually go home on Sunday and spend Labor Day at home. This will have me traveling on Labor Day. I'd prefer not to do that, but it is what it is. I'd hate to be somebody who already has their airline reservations/hotels all made and paid for..
That sucks for Irish fans who have already made their plans and bought non refundable tickets to fly out on Sun. ND fans also have to change room plans to add Sat. to their reservations. All these non ND people who ripped ND for their TV contract calling them greedy when they'd sell their own mother for a nickle.
Wouldn't the day the game is played be a contractual provision that both parties would have to agree to change? I do not know the answer but I would be surprised if Texas could unilaterally change the date. Suspect I will a couch potato this Labor Day weekend. http://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2016/1/13/10758862/2016-college-football-week-1
ND <t>well as far as I'm personally concerned it means I have to wait an additional day to watch my Irish play. Saturday or Sunday though, with all due respect Terry, the Irish will beat Texas.</t>
Texas fans think that with all that we lost, and with their improved defense and hopefully the new offense that they can pull the upset. They feel that we will have a hard time over coming losing 3 starters on the OL along with Day and Smith from the defense and no Will Fuller. I'm hopeful the OL will be even better next year even with the new starters. And while there is no replacing Fuller, I do think we'll have a group of very good WR's and Kizer should be even better in 2016. As to whether or not ND had to agree to the change in date, that's probably true. Still a problem for some fans who already have reservations.
When I learned of the change, I assumed both parties agreed to it. I can't imagine that it would be a unilateral decision. I don't think many, if any, ND fans have made travel arrangements yet. The visitors' tickets will be limited, so very few alumni/fans would know at this time if they are going to be able to get inside the stadium.
ND <t>Well the Texas fans can hope but I'm with you Terry as far as the OL is concerned. We should be as good if not better than last year on the OL. Nyles Morgan appears to be having a great spring. I'm really excited about our receivers.</t>
The same guy who couldn't get on the field last year because even at less than 100% Joe Schmidt was better, is now somehow the star of the Spring on Defense. Nyles Morgan. Glowing reports, suddenly he can get everybody lined and and remember the plays. hmmmmm. Kelly says that he's going for a more traditional spring game, divide up the teams and play. For awhile now, all across the country many team have been going to the offense/defense game and trying to come up with some screwy scoring system to let the defense get points. I just hope nobody gets hurt and the weather is good.
