ND <r>Corey,<br/> <br/> <QUOTE><s> </e></QUOTE> Although it wouldn't be good for ND necessarily, I'd love to see that happen.</r>
Until this past Saturday ND and UF have been living in paralell universes....both teams coming up with scrappy wins until UF blew out SC and ND blew out OU. Then.....maybe....just maybe UF took Ga lightly and all the pundits said it was OK... that the Gators had the Dawg's number. If ND makes any sort of a similar mistake with USC I expect the same results as what happened to UF in Jacksonville. ND needs to stay on track... keep the focus and hope like hell that Oregon stumbles.
they are all different teams with different identities. I watched the KState OU game. OU outgained Kansas State. OU didn't just make mistakes, they made massive mistakes. Landry Jones fumbled deep in KState territory that was scooped and scored for a TD by KState. Eventually, Klein was able to start moving the chains and take control of the clock to bleed the game out. ND held OU to 15 yards rushing, outgained the Sooners (despite all their passing yards) and knocked out the Sooners. I'm listening to the talking heads on ESPN and ESPNU today talk about the wins as if they are mirror images of one another. I believe that only ND and Oregon are starting freshman/true freshman QBs. I have a hard time punishing Oregon for their schedule, but not KState. Now the 'leaks' are coming out reminding people that Oregon and KState agreed to not play each other this year...as if to suggest that either one is ducking the other. Oregon needed to make room to play LSU last year so the series was cancelled. I have some serious questions about the SEC right now and a lot seems to be a 'given' about them. The ACC is a god damned nightmare. For as much heat as the B1G is taking, I don't know if anyone has really bothered to notice the dumpster fire that is ACC football.
The BIG is down... but the ACC just plain sux. FSU has players and can be good, but they are not a cohesive team that comes at you week after week. KSU is a good team. Well coached and disciplined, they will not beat themselves... BUT. They are not tremendously talented across the board like many other top 10 teams. When they run into an elite defense, or offense they will be in trouble.
ABC Earns Season-High Overnight For Notre Dame/Oklahoma OCTOBER 29, 2012 3:48 A top ten battle of big-name schools earned strong numbers Saturday night, despite competition from the World Series. The latest edition of ABC’s “Saturday Night Football,” won by #5 Notre Dame over #8 Oklahoma, earned a 5.9 overnight rating on ABC Saturday night — up 9% from coverage featuring Stanford/USC last year (5.4), and up 11% from coverage featuring Oregon/USC in 2010 (5.3). The 5.9 overnight is easily the highest of the season for a college football telecast on any network. The previous high was a 4.7 for LSU/Florida on CBS in week six of the season and Michigan/Alabama on ABC in week one. The strong numbers came despite competition from Game 3 of the World Series on FOX (7.2) and Mississippi State/Alabama on ESPN (1.9). Earlier Saturday, regional action including USC/Arizona drew a 2.6 overnight — even with last year (2.6), and down 21% from 2010 (3.3). Head-to-head, the telecast finished behind Georgia/Florida on CBS (4.6), but doubled Texas Tech/Kansas State on FOX.
You sure can tell he's Corey's brother. P.S. I know I'm an old fart and no one cares what I think, but when I see tattoos on a woman, it turns me off.
The TV numbers don't surprise me. Every non-moron Alabama fan I know (I have to make that distinction) was watching the ND-OU game and flipping back to make sure the Tide was TCB with State. I'd say the rest of the SEC fans are rather dismissive of ND and perhaps rightfully so given our futility over the past 2 decades.. although I think it was something that existed even during the Holtz years (Cheerio Bowl anyone). That being said.. for as much as Alabama sends the college football world shaking in their boots, their fans (at least over 30 and can afford the tickets to big games) have that same hatred/fear of Notre Dame like Oklahoma fans do. I don't think Saban and his kids really give 2 shits who they line up against, but I can tell you.. for all their huff and puff, their fans would much prefer that Notre Dame be nowhere near the big dance. They feel we've cheated them out of titles. The times they've gotten their shot on the field to put us in our place, we've beaten them. The Bear himself was 0 for the Irish. One of their top selling fan paintings of all-time is a picture of the ND QB (Buerlein maybe?) getting sacked from Alabama's lone win over ND in what I believe was Holtz' first year. All they ever want to talk about is how they 'whupped a Holtz coached Irish team'. Don't bother telling them the next year when Alabama went to South Bend, they were crushed 37-6. They don't want to hear it. They'll tell you they want to show you that the B12 is sending another poser to the dance. They want to show you they are as fast as Oregon. But deep down inside, the last 4 words they wanna hear coming up the tunnel before the big game and as the stands fill in are 'Here Come The Irish'. I ain't kidding ya. The trash talk has turned complimentary which has now turned into critique of our schedule. They're paying a lot more attention to us than I am to them. (seriously, Oregon kinda scares the **** out of me). This should be a fun run down the end and I hope we don't mess it up. I'd love to kick the Tide's ass for the NC and then read all about how Dave will compare it to the Florida Gators beating the Tide in Birmingham for the SEC title...

Tim Gentry: I saw your use of the account tgentry2. Not an issue on our part. I just want to help if you are having a problem with your primary account. Please let me know.
ND <t>Yes, Tim has been to a couple if games with us. He lives in Kankakee, Il now. Hasn't posted much in the past but I guess the Irish have him really excited this season. Amazing how this love for ND rubs off on your children huh?</t>
Hell yeah! I hope T2 decides to post. Another passionate Irish fan is always good for the blood...plus, he's a great guy. oh! I needed to post a correction. When Stills was being an ass down the stretch... It was Motta on the 1st play... On the 2nd play the person who came over to taunt him after the offensive pass interference call was Carlo I believe. My original point still stands, they may be assholes..but they're our assholes. Honestly, what an interesting team we have. I've seen lots of interviews and programs where you get to see the kids behind the scenes.. Our defensive line and middle linebacker are just the nicest guys in the world. I mean, seriously.. just wonderful people. Then there's the rest of our defense. They aren't exactly user friendly.
