lol...can't beat Tim to the punch on recruiting news!! Rochell is a big boy isn't he! A top 100 player, and a top 10 player at his position. Not often we can get kids out of Georgia.
Good question Gip! But I believe his brother plays for Air Force and that tells me that that family believes in academics and isn't afraid to leave home. BTW I'm hearing that Brian Kelly had back surgery yesterday. I guess having the Tommy Rees monkey on his back was just too much!
Pete Sampson is reporting that Austin Collinsworth is out for the year. He hurt his shoulder in the Spring Game and has had to have Surgery.

There are rumors going around that NBC and Notre Dame are working on a new contract that will pay the Irish up to 24M/year for their football rights. That would be a big boost to the program for sure and make the money pretty much equivalent to what other big time schools are getting with their new deals. Next worry will be how the Conf commissioners will screw the Irish for not being in a conference when it comes to the new BCS playoff format.
Good overview of the young defensive players that Kelly brought in the the 2011 and 2012 classes. I wasn't really aware of Jarret Graces potential at LB. Young Defensive Players
I read where Boise St. is having second thoughts about moving to the BE. It could be that it might be collapsing.
Big East is becoming a hodge podge basketball conference, losing Syracuse and Pitt really devalues it somewhat as well. The teams that they have added like Houston and SMU are not the same quality as what the Big East lost.
One quick look at the new Big East shows a conference with schools spread out in every corner of the country...including San Diego State and Boise State from the far west. This won't last long... :?
Sid your job this fall....keep an eye on this kid. Jamitreus Cockham, 2014, RB/ATH, 6-1, 190, Fishers, IN (Hamilton Southeastern)
Swarbrick was the spokesperson for the Conference Commissioners which I see as a good sign that Notre Dame will be treated fairly in the new deal. Also he denied the rumor that ND will be joining the B12 this summer for all sports except football. I know he's mocked by some and they call him " Savy Jack" not in a respectful way. But Swarbrick seems to be doing a pretty good job. Mostly people blame him for not hiring Bob Stoops, and for the uniforms that the Irish wear in their neutral site games, and for the neutral site games in general.
That means every player who was eligible but not offered a 5th year, except David Posluzky, has landed at another school for one more year of football. Crist - Kansas Walker - UMass Ragone - Kansas Newman - Ball State Williams - UMass McDonald - Kansas Pretty amazing. I think it has as much to do with all of those guys having their degrees and thus being eligible under NCAA rules to play immediately as anything though.
