You know that caused a firestorm of criticism when it was released, at least over on ND Nation. I thought it was OK, I'm more of the type who likes John Scully's Here come the Irish video, but it was like an angry mob over there with the reaction to it.
ND <t>Yeah they have been going ape shi* the last few days over that on NDNATION, they just can't let it go. Personally, I just thought it was corny and hope it goes away.</t>
Much ado about nothing. I liked it. A catchy tune & upbeat all the way. Pretty cool, IMO. As an old guy, that kind of repetitive music beat normally doesn't appeal to me, but in this case, I thought the production was very well done. Another example of why those with the shrill voices on NDN need to let go of their faux arrogance and get a life.
I'm with you Sid, I liked it. In fact I like it better the second time I heard it. Nice crop of cheerleaders
That thing was more gay than Liberace riding a pogo stick upside down. Of course, with that being said... if that is our lone 'low point' of the upcoming season.. I am good with it. BTW, nice hat cowboy
Bad news guys. Mike Ragone is likely going to be suspended for the year for possesion of marijuana. We have really had some bad luck with TE's. We've recruited a ton of them who were highly rated but then lose them one way or another. Fauria ...gone Rueland ...gone Yeatman...gone Hibbins ...gone Ragone...will be suprised if he is not suspended for the 2010 season. He was a 2007 recruit so he would be eligible to come back for 2011 season assuming he does whatever is necessary to regain his status on the team. Ragone
OK a positive story: Tim was always a Brian Kelly guy so he'll esp like this one. Although I always pulled for Charlie, and heard many nice stories about things he did, also heard lots of stories about his arrogance. That does not seem to be a Brian Kelly problem. He might be a throw back to the old time Irish poliitcans, smile at you very big while they are picking your pocket clean and you like it! Kelly
Gator site, EDSBS, take on the Ragone arrest. He sort of looks like he's ready to work for the boys back home breaking legs doesn't he!
Sometimes these car stops can be beaten. I recall Wayne Fontes got caught with cocaine in his vehicle and blamed it on his son. It worked. So I say that Ragman blame it on Wayne Fontes son.
Reports are that it was in the female passengers purse, so why did he say it was his!! Even if it was he should have either 1) told her he loved her and was going to marry her but that their future depended on her taking the fall for the weed or 2) Blame it on Wayne Fontes son. Truthfully given that marriage can be dangerous...maybe #2 was his best option!!
Well Ragone pleaded not guilty in court. He supposedly admitted to the officer that the weed was his, even though it was in the possession of the girl in the car. Kind of dicey, if it wasn't his and he was being "protective" of his girl friend then maybe he's reconsidered given how it will impact him. Or maybe he's convinced the girl to say it was hers, although if I were her I don't think I'd want a possession of MJ on my record just to save his butt. Of course maybe his attny has found some flaw in the whole process and thinks he can get it tossed on some technicality. In other news, Brian Kelly was in Denver to talk to the Denver ND club and commented that he hoped to get a series started with Texas and Fla. Getting Texas on the schedule is probably not that hard, Texas does look for 1 good non-conf game a year and isn't locked into another non-conf game like UF/FSU. But getting Gators out of Fla to South Bend will most likely be impossible given their scheduling situation. Terry
Speaking of ND Club golf outings, here's a photo of Coach Kelly in Indy earlier this month with some former players. I apologize for continuing to highlight my son's involvement with ND football, but to be honest, his willingness to share his experiences with me is a great source of happiness in my life. The people in the photo L to R: Justin Goheen, Brian Baker, Jason Williams (classmate, non-FB), Coach Kelly, Jeff Burris, Brian Hamilton, John Covington.
Great picture Sid, thanks for sharing! Taking questions from the Denver club, one in particular stood out!! At the moment Kelly is gaining traction with ND fans every where. Some worried that he was too small timey to do the ND job, that he would not be able to recruit on a national scale, etc. Well he's definitely not small timey in the way he handles himself as a representative of Notre Dame and he's off to an excellent start with recruiting. Now there is that little matter of winning on the field still to be determined.
marc Edwards <t>Most Irish fans will remember Marc Edwards, an outstanding FB for the irish in the 90s. There is a nice short article on him over in ISD, I found the following quote from him reflecting on his days under coach Holtz more than interesting?<br/> <br/> Edwards was frustrated by Holtz’s seemingly infinite attention to detail.<br/> <br/> “He was so particular,” Edwards remembered. “If I was in my stance and was supposed to take a lead step first and instead I took a crossover step first, regardless of the outcome of the play, he was down there yelling and screaming and just absolutely going crazy.”<br/> <br/> <br/> <br/> <br/> That may not sound significant but I fell that is a part of what has been missing at ND for a long time.</t>
