Notre Dame’s focus this week is on execution. The staff will develop a game plan to attack the Redhawks but success will be defined by how well they run, pass, block, and tackle. The Irish do not need to out-scheme Martin and his staff in order to win. The advantage they enjoy in talent alone should be decisive. Well the Irish finally get some passing from Riley and he throws a 38 yd strike for a TD and we go 80 + yards for a TD in just about 30 seconds. 14-3 Irish.
We have a couple of really talented running backs but our O line can’t hold their blocks long enough for the type of plays we run. It’s pretty obvious why we have a hard time recruiting top receivers. We’re back to the Golson years.
Our punter was much better yesterday. He averaged 47+ yards and, based on what I saw on TV, decent hang time.
Irish inched up in the AP Poll from 17 to 16. Louisville is ranked #15, so a big opportunity awaits the Irish if they can get their act together.

Good news from the Ladies Soccer team, they got a 1-0 win at Charlottesville over UVA only their 2nd win ever road win over UVA. They are a young team with a lot of freshmen in the starting 11, but they seem to be very good, which they will need to be in an extremely competitive ACC women's soccer.
