Problem is that there aren't many next guys to step up.

I guess this is unusual, and that the players all bought into it.

Feel sorry for the young man. You know he wants to play, especially now. Tough break.

It only takes one. What I like about the current status of the program is that for the first time in many years, we have quality depth and we’re continuing to build.

Another big Portal addition. Malachi Fields an excellent WR from UVA will be on the squad in 2025

Like Alabama safety, Devona Smith, he's a grad transfer.

Both Irish basketball teams got easy wins vs inferior competition and are off till the end of the year when ACC play starts. The Ladies are the top ACC team, the men will struggle to be a .500 team but once they get Markus Burton back maybe we can pull some upsets.

Ben Nichols OL commits. Nichols graded out as a 4.0-star player with a Top 250 overall projection on the Irish Breakdown board. He also earned a four-star grade from Rivals, On3 and ESPN. On3 ranks him as the No. 207 overall player in the country, ESPN ranks him No. 235 and Rivals ranks him No. 242.

On top of offers from his four finalists, Nichols also had offers from Alabama, Ohio State, Florida State, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan State, Indiana, Illinois, Georgia Tech, Kansas, Purdue, Virginia Tech and Minnesota.

Tim, you can never have too many good players on the offensive line. Sounds like an nice addition for the Irish!

Irish have picked up several grad transfers (Portal) guys this last week, 1 TE from Arkansas, and a WR from UVA and Wisconsin. Hopefully we can pick up a couple a couple of big DL's to stuff the middle of the line as well.

ND women convincingly beat 8-5 Virginia at home, 95-54. Olivia Miles had her 6th career triple double and her second in a row. Next up is a trip to #17 North Carolina, definitely a challenge. Coach Ivey becomes the fastest in ACC history to reach 100 wins.

I still see conflicting messages about QB for 2025, some say that we will go to the portal for a veteran and some say no. Freeman certainly indicated that he was happy with the QB room and wasn't planning on doing that, but hard not to notice that the remaining teams in the CFP have a lot of Portal QB's. Oregon, Texas, Ohio State, ND, don't know about ASU, Boise, and UGA/PEnn State do not for sure.

I don’t want ND to get a portal QB. We’ll play with the hand we have unless we lose 2 of the QBs we have to the portal.

Big games tomorrow with Notre Dame - Georgia and Oregon - Ohio State.

I see at least one expert picking the Irish vs Georgia.

Penn State and Texas shouldn’t have much problem.

I am picking the final as Georgia vs Texas with Texas winning this time.

By the way, Winning this game against Georgia was the hump that B. Kelly was never gonna get the Irish over. He decided he couldn't recruit the players he needed to South Bend he needed to do so and jumped to LSU. Well Marcus Freeman proved he could. He may have and may still have some stumbles along the way as a first time HC but he is the guy for ND. Notre Dame can only get better and has proven so with Marcus Freeman.
