    Well
We got what appears to be a great PK in the 2025 class. Too bad he can’t start kicking now.

This was a very pleasant surprise!!!

After months of seemingly leading for Madden Faraimo‍, the Irish have finally secured a verbal commitment from the 2025 California linebacker.

I think most fans for sure had given up on him and we certainly weren't being discouraged by the websites who all thought he was going to USC, sort of a stay close to home. This is a very big pickup for the Irish defense

We've got a couple of legacies in this class who are also very good football players. James Flannigan a 4 star TE and Jerome Bettis Jr a WR. Always glad to see a couple of those on the team.

One thing that Freeman seemed to make clear is that they like the guys they have in the QB room and don't intend to add a grad transfer QB like they have every year since 2022. Jack Coan, Sam Hartman and Riley Leonard. Like most coaches they want a QB in every class, 4 QB's on the roster. The Portal complicates things as we've already seen good QB's hit the portal. Miller Moss of USC, Jackson Arnold of OU for example.

In addition to the legacies we have Plaxico Burress’ son.

Every time we've added a transfer QB he ends up starting. Probably part of the agreement. What does that mean for a player like Carr? Are his elbow problems that serious? And does Angeli stay?
As to Burress' son, shoot, that's great.

I hope that is true Tim. A 3 year starter at QB used to be somewhat common but not anymore.

This is nice and I hope this continues, although in the portal era and all I wonder.

Notre Dame is one of seven institutions to share the American Football Coaches Association’s 2024 Academic Achievement Award. The award honors the schools with the highest graduation rate for members of the 2017 freshman football student-athlete classes.

Of the seven schools to be recognized with the honor this year, Notre Dame leads the pack with 11 such honors all-time. The Memphis Touchdown Club presents the annual award, which is sponsored by BSN Sports. The head coaches of the winning schools will be honored during the 2025 AFCA Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina on Sunday, January 12.

The other institutions to earn the honor this year include Air Force, Clemson, Liberty, Virginia, Wake Forest and Wisconsin.

I'm a bit surprised there are only 7 schools being awarded. The 2017 freshman class - and the following 2-3 freshman classes - received a 6th year of eligibility. I would think more student-athletes than normal would have received their degrees in that time. Maybe there were, just not as many as the top 7.
