Bobda, I wonder if the OSU D coordinator had nightmares of Estime running wild in his secondary.

Can't say I don't have visions of Estime gashing our front behind the ND road graders forcing the safeties to attack downhill to mitigate the threat.....all the while Hartman snickering knowing the next 2nd and short is play action over the top - trust me, it's a recurring nightmare. We handled the Irish running game last year without too much trouble but that was of course pre-Hartman and a less robust downfield threat. I'd like to believe our defense is much improved but as my friend from the north has indicated, we have yet to face an offense with any semblance of a power running threat. I was very impressed with our defensive effort -v- WKU which is an outstanding offensive team, but more air raid type of attack.

Our nightmare scenario is not be able to keep McCord clean and upright and not controlling the LOS on defense without committing a safety to the box. If we can't do either, we'll get rolled. If we can do either one or the other, it will be a 4 qtr battle. If we do both, we win handily, imo. Hoping this is a coming out party for the defense and our OL continues to gel and young McCord takes the next step to realizing his potential. I expect a 4 qtr battle

I'm not surprised. No one should be. I've said for years that there's an element of ND so-called fans who are ticket whores. They take advantage of their ticket-buying status to buy tickets to big games solely to sell them to the highest bidders. It disgusts me, but there's nothing I or anyone can do about it. It's delusionary for loyal ND fans to think that the fan base as a whole is among the best in the land.

I'm thinking that the 40% number is prob on the high side. I've read the Irish have done alot of planning and prep to "keep the red out" and try to minimize the risk of a Buckeye Nation invasion. I really don't remember when I was there in 96 at being an unusually large number of Buckeye fans. While I'd love to see it and I'm sure we'll be well represented, I'm not hearing anything extraordinary as yet from my guys on the ground

Inside Notre Dame's strategy to keep Ohio State red out of the stadium

I hope you're right. History says I'm right, but I'd love to be wrong.

Well to win this one we’ll need to cut down on the penalties and mistakes. We will also need the best defense we’ve played this season while putting up plenty of points. That’s all. Easy huh??

Daughter Molly reports the stadium is mostly green. Red much less.

No biggie but shitty call on the motion penalty. ND guy clearly was over the line of scrimmage.

    Didn't expect a 0-0 tie after 1.

Hartman goes through his progressions like an NFL QB. Great composure.

Thought for sure the Buckeyes would score there, excellent goal line stand.

This does not look like it will be a high scoring game. Might be wise to take the easy FG rather roll the dice on 4th and short.

Whew! Good thing these B10 refs have replay to correct their mistakes. How did the outside ref not see the drop in the end zone? I normally don’t complain about officiating, but these guys are missing on both sides.

3-0 Buckeyes. Just didn't see that as the 1st half score.

Irish certainly can not keep letting McCord have all day to throw to that group or WR's.

Thats the ball game folks, Buckeye defense just outstanding tonight, won't be shocked if they shut us out.

Hope Marvin Harrison Jr, is OK.
