gip you're on your way to being the Bionic man! Hope it turns out great for you and you are up and going full blast soon!! Does Commish get back to games?
I've got severe balance problems and need a cane or walker to get around. We're doing a trip of a lifetime in Nov. I'm not sure the last time Commish was back. Last game I recall him going to was the bowl game in Yankee stadium vs Syracuse.
Some good news yesterday, our top target at QB in the class of 2025, Deuce Knight of Mississippi gave his verbal to the Irish. He's a 4 star QB, rated #10 in the 247 ratings at the position. The 6-foot-4, 195-pounder burst on the recruiting radar for Notre Dame and many others following his sophomore season. Knight really turned heads following his showing at the Elite 11 in Oxford (Miss.) this spring as he tested off the charts. Knight checked in over 6-foot-4, but then he ran a 4.53 40 and recorded a vertical of 41.9 inches.
More good news, Irish land 4* OL from Massachusetts, Guerby Lambert. He's a top 50 player and the #2 Tackle in the 2024 class. The 2024 Massachusetts offensive lineman just announced his commitment to Notre Dame, giving the Irish 23 verbal commitments in their current recruiting class and the left tackle they relished all cycle. He joins Peter Jones, Anthonie Knapp and Styles Prescod to give Notre Dame a quartet of offensive linemen in the class.
Having seen Lambert, who is the No. 8 offensive tackle and No. 117 prospect, play at West Roxbury (Mass.) Catholic Memorial, and having met with him on multiple occasions, it is easy for plenty of fans (and programs) to overlook his immense talent because of the way he approached recruiting. The only school he visit prior to his officials in June was Boston College, and the only other schools he visited were Ohio State, Notre Dame and Harvard despite an offer list stretching coast-to-coast,
Been waiting for his young man(Lambert)to commit for a Long time! I don’t get the Harvard and and BC visits but..he’s Irish now! Well at least for now.
For some reason, when I post a Twitter/X tweet, only the link shows up, but this hype video is worth watching: Fixed it for you Sid!
Heard a couple of stats this AM on ESPNU. Irish have been home dogs 7 times in the last 10 years. We are 6-1 in those games. This is the first time in Ryan Day's coaching career he's been less than touchdown favorite. I have a hard time believing that though, unless they don't count CFP games, Buckeyes had to be underdogs vs Georgia last year.
Could be that the whole "Irish Wear Green" hasn't resonated well with Irish fans with tickets that are worth a bunch of $$$$. Sad, we are pretty much the only fan base who sells out their team in these big home games.
The bad part for ND is seeing a game at ND is a bucket list trip for rabid fans of teams that rarely play ND and they are willing to spend an obscene amount of money to secure a ticket. Plus, Buckeye fans bring it. M has had an ongoing problem with season tickets holders selling their souls to our fine and great neighbors to the south. The Bucks routinely bring 30-40K fans to Ann Arbor when they visit. In contrast, I cannot recall a game in Columbus with tens of thousands of visiting fans; but, perhaps, Columbus’ reputation of providing North Korean hospitality to visitors on game day combined with the battalion of German Shepherds and Dobermans led around the stadium by the Ohio state police might deter rival fans from mustering up the courage to visit the Pyongyang of the Midwest. As for the game, really interested to see how OSU responds to the physicality of ND. IMHO, the major difference between the Urban and Day eras is that while there has been no discernible difference in talent, Day’s teams have not consistently shown the physical nastiness and grit that typified Urban’s teams that will haunt the memories of Michigan fans forever. Though OSU has more talent than ND, especially at WR, if ND can physically punish the Buckeyes and Hartman plays as he is capable of playing, it might be a magical night in SB. But I suspect your defensive coordinator already has PTSD after watching hours of Marvin Harrison Jr. on video.
