Avery Davis has been a real scraper since coming to SB. He's switched positions 2 or three time and if I remember he was recruited as a QB. Great kid.

    It's official...

Jack Coan will be our starting QB,” Kelly wrote on Twitter. “All three quarterbacks distinguished themselves in the spring and preseason camp. Clearly, each has the skills necessary to lead, but Jack proved to be more consistent and therefore, going into our opener, gives us the best chance for success.”

    1. I was at that ND GTech game in Atlanta/ Tech had the best player on the field with that RoboWR they had, but struggled to get him the ball.
    2. I have mixed feelings about Coan as the starter. IMHO he was preventing Wisconsin from being elite, but now he's going to come here and turn that corner? If he can nickle and dime while remaining accurate on the deep ball, he'll put up huge numbers with our athletes

None other than Charlie Weis has proclaimed Ian Book will eventually be the Saints starter.

Last week, former Notre Dame head coach and longtime NFL coach Charlie Weis proclaimed on SiriusXM NFL Radio that "Ian Book is eventually going to be the starting quarterback for the Saints. The kid can play."

Yes that was the WR that we faced at Ga.Tech in 2006. We were lucky to come away with the win in that game. If I remember correctly we got a favorable call on a critical play that preserved the win.

Johnson was a favorite of mine when he played for the Lions. Though he was making millions he passed on the mansion craze and lived in a nice apartment in Atlanta. When he retired he had a secure future with some wise investments. He had a wonderful family his mom was a college professor and his sister was a doctor. I forget what his dad did. He was a first ballot Hall of Farmer.

Irish pick up a 2023 verbal from NJ DB Adon Shuler a 4 star prospect. I read somewhere that he's 15 right now, of course as a 2023 kid that means he's entering his Jr year so he'll be 17 when he comes to ND still pretty young for a college freshman.

I've been reading that all 5 of our RB, including the freshmen Logan Diggs and Audric Estime, have had very good fall camps. Now if the OL will just gel so there are holes to run through!

Based on what I've seen firsthand and heard and read, it's possible for a RB to overcome a less-than-great OL. It's dependent on his stance and first step, a matter of milliseconds. A proper stance and first step can enable the RB to hit the hole just prior to the full reaction of the DL and LB, thus giving him the chance to veer outside and gain decent yardage. I say this to point out that if our RBs are taught and coached correctly, we still can have a decent running game, even if the OL lacks game experience. I'm hoping we can have a solid run game. We'll see.

Womens Basketball note, incoming freshman Sonia Citron had a great U19 World Championships, USA won the Gold medal and she was a star, Catlin Clark the Iowa freshman sensation this past season was the MVP but Sonia was right there with her. This years Irish women have some really good young players, Sonia Citron, Maddy Westbeld and Oliva Miles are a tremendous group of young players.

In the Marcus Freeman press conference yesterday, found on all the sites, somebody asked him about his T-Shirt he wore at practice that said WOPU vs Everybody. He said it was a gift from the WOPU Nation. I'm thinking WOPU Nation? What tribe is that? So, I googled it thinking I'd find that there was a Indian Tribe based somewhere historically in the South Bend area and somehow, he connected with them. But it's not it's the name of the Organization that the Walk-ons created for themselves. They have a website and soon they will sell you that T-shirt. It's an interesting website, go visit it.

Although I still don't know what WOPU stands for, Walk Ons PU?

WOPU Nation - Former walk-on players at Notre Dame

ON HIS "WOPU VS. EVERYBODY" SHIRT HE'S WEARING

"This was a gift from the WOPU nation. Today we had scout kickoff and kickoff return. Look, I don't like people just standing on the sideline, so I try to coach up the scout team a little bit so I told them I'm in support of them. My scout team, which has some walk-ons on that scout team, I told them I was in support of them."
