From Eric Hanson's Twitter Account: 2015 Notre Dame Captains: Nick Martin, Matthias Farley, Joe Schmidt, Sheldon Day, Jaylon Smith. Personally, I like the fact that 3 of the 5 captains are from Indiana, but all 5 are solid choices and IMO strong leaders.
Coach Kelly on the Team Captains: I would love to have an entire team of Joe Schmidts. Eric Hansen on Joe Schmidt:
ND <t>It would have been nice to have Williams back but it is what it is. He should have taken care of business. Most of this is on himself.</t>
I like all the Captains, a little surprised at Farley instead of another offensive player. I might have picked Malik or Stanley but maybe in Stanley's case it's not his personality and maybe you don't want two OL's. But apparently Farley is a very well liked and respected player...so I'm good. Ishaq, it seems like he got caught not making enough progress towards a degree which is why the NCAA had to rule and allow him an exception. It could have been avoided if he'd taken some classes this past Srping that would have transferred but he didn't do squat. Oh well it's on him, some are saying that it's a crying shame that he can't play but Dalvin Cook was right back on the team after the jury of FSU fans and Alumni said he was oK. But it's two different things, and this is all on Ishaq, he made the poor decision that got him in this situation and he made the decision to just take a year off. Russell however went to school and earned 9 hours and is back playing . Ishaq is reportedly in class at ND and will most likely graduate in the Spring, so good for him. But not playing football for 2 years, if he had NFL asperations he's a huge long shot now. With a good Sr year he could have maybe been drafted. We'll never know now, but as I said it's all on him.
MD <t>Well the new verbal QB commit from Caly , Ian Book started off his SR year with a 30 for 37 passing night and 3 TDs plus a running TD in his first game of the season.</t>
