I think 10th or 11th which is where I see them listed in most of the polls is about right. ND has a lot of talent back but Zaire hasn't had much action. If he plays the way I think he can we could have a real nice season.</r>

I'd have to agree that some where close to the top 10 is about right, we do have potential but a lot of unproven potential. QB of course is the biggest question and while the defense is healthy right now and all those injuries last year led to young players getting on the field (and getting torched) we don't really know what we have.

Sept will tell a lot about this team. Undefeated Sept will move us into the top 5 I'll bet.

The rumor is that the staff was hoping he'd transfer and they don't really wan him back.

I think it's best for all parties, maybe he can get it turned around in JUCO and become the player people thought he would be coming out of HS. I'm personally ready to move on from him.

New Mexico Lobo's will visit ND Stadium Sept 14th 2019. Unless Bob Davie does a 180 with the direction of the UNM program he is unlikely to be on the other sidelines for this game. He'll have to buy a ticket.

Well here's the good that comes out of Greg Bryant taking his game to JUCO...Josh Anderson a walk-on gets a full ride. Video is heart warming.

That's really great. You can tell that the other players really think a lot about him. Wasn't that Schmidt that was first to congratulate him?

Over the years, the quality of Notre Dame walk-ons is off the chart.

I know that Joe Moore is legendary as an OL coach, but he reportedly hated recruiting and hardly ever left campus. Still got a ton of great kids and he produced some great OL's.

Heistand so far has not had what I would call a great OL, but if he is a great coach he has finally assembled an OL depth chart that should allow him to show us he's great.

Very encouraging early report from Kelly on the kicking game. Justin Yoon has been perfect so far from all distances and Kelly says his technique is flawless. Punter Newsome apparently has been even better average 51 + and hang time in the high fours.

    This team is loaded.

I always worry about the kicking game (FGs and punts). I can't recall specifics, but there have been times in the past when our ace kicker or punter was injured, and that part of our game fell apart. I sure hope it doesn't happen this year.

The biggest problem with last year's kicking game was the coaching staff's inattention to detail. They had as a holder a kid who could function in wet weather. I don't care how good the kicker is, if they don't give him a competent holder, there's a problem. Getting plays in on time, having a good holder, going for only 1 when you should....these are details that winning programs always get right.

Jarron Jones, the starting NT of defense, was apparently hurt badly in practice yesterday. So badly that it appears that true freshman Jerry Tillery will be the starter at that spot.

All of a sudden depth is starting to become an issue. That is at least three DLs who have either transferred , flunked out or were injured. And we are still more than two weks awayfrom the opener.
