I totally agree, dumb play on Bosa's part.

Buckeyes look pretty solid and the bad news is that Zeke just gets stronger in the second half!

Extremely poor tackling by the Irish. What I didn't see coming is the offensive line being dominated by a depleted Buckeye defensive line.

They just didn't look prepared coming out of the gate. I never bought that the Buckeyes might not care about the game, they have a terrific bowl record under JT and now Meyer, they come to play.

Thankfully the Irish have a few scores and 28-14 at half is better than 35-0 which it was looking like at one point.

I don't think the defense can stop the Buckeyes, best we can hope for is to keep it at least somewhat respectable by scoring some points ourseleves.

Once Bossa got ejected, ND's offense began clicking. This game is turning into a shootout.

Congrats to the Buckeyes and their fine fans here on the Skybox. After you guys came out and put up 14 points the game was essentially over. We did get some offense going and forced some field goals to keep it from being a 60-0 game. But you guys were better in every phase of the game.

Agree Stu, at several points lesser teams would have folded up shop.....I wasn't comfortable until the last score.....gutty effort.

Was very sorry to see Smith go down. Hope it's nothing major and he goes on to a great NFL career....re: Bosa...meh, not the way you want to go out big fella, see what you hit next time, not a cheap shot but a necessary call under the rules......get professional advisors and manage your money well. Shame we couldn't have watched the games two best defenders on the field one last time.

Best of luck to the Irish.....

Thanks, Stu and Terry. We got a hard dose of reality today. We'll take our medicine and move on. Losing Bosa didn't hurt the Buckeyes a bit. I and anyone with a brain would agree that it wasn't a cheap shot.

I'm hoping that for the ND players coming back next year, they've learned how hard they have to work to rise to OSU's level.

just went out for a pizza, but agree with Terry and Stu, the Irish really played hard and hung in there until the end.

Great game by the Bucks. JT Barrett was so effective with his arm and his legs. Strange how the top defenders on each team didn't get midway though the first quarter. I was really impressed with the Buckeye special teams. They really were a big advantage to OSU.

    Gip,

I agree, but that has not been the case all season!

Agree Gip, Buckeye ST were the best I've seen this year. Their kick coverage was suffocating.

Our punter was really pretty good, but out kicked his coverage a couple of times...but was that him or our coverage guys?

Sid, thanks. I thought the call was proper but not at all a cheap shot. Rules are rules and the guys have to learn the techniques they are trying to promote for the sake of player safety.

Usually kick coverage teams are composed of D backs. I think that we had 6 D backs out for this game which could have been one reason for the poor performance.

OSU played almost the entire game without their two best defensive linemen. I would call that a push.

I didn't realize that they played their top defensive linemen on special teams.

This Ohio State team was 50-4 over the last 4 years, Urban is clearly one of the best coaches in the game. He's also one of the best recruiters in the game and so was Jim Tressel, he took over a program that had annually out recruited the Irish, and he continued that, this years team was loaded with talent and was experienced. When they had losses the guys who stepped in played very well.

Kelly is a good coach, but he's so far been unable to get the ND program on the level with Ohio State. So they were more talented and better coached IMHO. I loved the way our team fought through the season over coming a lot of adversity with the injuries. Our losses were to really good teams who just had more talent and more depth and frankly if you asked me if I'd take Dabo over Kelly I would, Urban over Kelly I would, or David Shaw over Kelly. As I said Kelly is a very good coach and has done a lot to boost the Irish back into the conversation after the Willingham/Weis years. He really took over a mess. He still has a lot to prove though.
