I missed this article back in Sept. It's about internships that some ND football players did this past summer. Elmer was in Congress, Onwualu was on Wall Street and Joe Schmidt was in the ND Investment office. It's a nice read, what is available with ND Connections. I"m sure other athletes at other schools also do things like this. I remember reading that the Tenn QB interned at Pratt & Whitney. ND Summer Interns
Max Redfield from Instagram on his suspension... I have read some posts on other boards from people who have kids at ND that indicate that Redfield still lives in the dorms, is very active and an excellent student. Doesn't have any issues with ND, seems to love being there...
Not even gonna go there with you Krebsie....just gonna keep this civil. Suffice to say that there is not unanimity of opinion that ND is the standard by which all others should be judged in this regard. No reason for me to rehash the high-profile, well publicized instances where their actions or lack thereof have been less than satisfactory to many objective observers..... In his time in Columbus, Urban has not hesitated to suspend superstars who have not met his expectations for conduct....All-Americans and/or current NFL'ers Carlos Hyde, Bradley Roby, Jack Mewhort, Jake Stoneburner, Noah Spence and Rod Smith come to mind, 4 starters for this years much anticipated season opener in Blacksburg including Joey Bosa and then JT Barret and Adolphus Washington more recently.....why he believes that Zeke doesn't deserve the same fate, I'll leave to him until he proves to me that he can't be trusted with that responsibility....in fact, to date on balance, I'm very comfortable with his decisions taken as a whole. Tim, question for you....JT Barrett was suspended from a game this season....would he have played if he was an ND starter? I expect ND to gash us up the middle on the ground and not be concerned about any pass rush because I hear that Ohio State has an All-American DT who won't be playing in the game for some silly disciplinary reason. Fellas, I have no intention of continuing this debate but it just seems a bit unreasonable to me to have to listen to sanctimonious preaching from a glass pulpit without commenting on the absurdity of it all..... Best of luck to your Irish, I'm looking forward to a great game......I think the Irish are the best offense we've seen all year. I'll be interested to see if our defense can hold up. If so, I like our chances in close one
ND <r>BuckeyeT,<br/> <QUOTE><s> </e></QUOTE> the obvious answer to that Irish for fans on this board is NO. Not a chance. <br/> <br/> My question in reference to Elliot seems to be misinterpreted by some here. It was mainly directly towards other Irish fans here. We all know the answer given the facts as we know them on what Elliot did. It was rhetorical. We(Irish fans) know the offenses he committed more than likely would not only have cost him a game but the rest of the season period and it would have put him in serious jeopardy for any upcoming season. <br/> <br/> I'm not saying what's right or wrong. Simply trying to point out differences in the way these things are handled by two different institutions. <br/> <br/> Enjoy the game. Hopefully the Irish can make it a good one against what we all know is a OSU team with much more talent in just about every position. Hopefully both teams have a good game and the best team wins.</r>
Not a chance? Interesting.....imagine if the guy was a three-time offender? I guess surely he would miss several games, if not a season or more or be dismissed from the team. Don't know why I even posed the question....this thread has officially become absurd. You're on you own Tim....
I have defended Urban Meyer for years on the ND Boards to the point where I am ostrasized there. This simply does not pass the smell test. Urban smells the prize and he wil not let principle stand in the way.
Atta Boys!!!....let's bring in the New Year they way we ended it last year!! CFB will always be our never ending attitude on this board! Pretty weak stuff though I gotta admit....wait till my Huskers are all the way back, I'll be bringing my old material back....and some new stuff!! BAMA 27 MSU 17 ND 16 OSU 77
It's fortunate that ND lost to Stanford. If OK replaced us in the top four after we beat Stanford, I'd have been furious. Those Big 12 teams are ********. They all play no one until Nov. and then they all show up with bloated rankings. A decent team like OK beats Baylor, TCU and OK St. and they're a playoff team. They got thrashed by a team that ND lost to at Clemson by 2. What crap.
All that matters today is how the players play and the coaches coach. How the schools handle discipline doesn't mean squat. Buckeyes are big favorites even ND website guys picking Ohio to win this game. They have a great coach, a ton of talent, they also have a coach right off of Kelly's staff to help with prep (Tony Alford) and their OCoord also spent time on Kelly's staff. Buckeyes are also annual participants in the Big Bowls with an impressive record of success. I think we can win but not unless we solve our redzone woes. Joe Schmidt will need to play at a high level, like before his injury. Nick Watkins will have to play like he's been the starter all year. OL will have to play to expectations, Kizer will need to play his best game and the offense will have to take care of the ball. That's not too much to ask is it?
Looking forward to Fiesta Bowl game this afternoon. Both programs have enjoyed a good season. Bragging rights is all that's left!
Hot knife through butter...bad start for the Irish on offense and defense. Better get something figured out quick.
That was gruesome on Jaylon, he's done I hope he'll be OK and not require surgery. This is starting to look and feel like USC 2014.
Extremely poor tackling by the Irish. What I didn't see coming is the offensive line being dominated by a depleted Buckeye defensive line.
