Agree about Zeke.....for my money he's the best all-around back in the country. I have great respect for Henry, he is a tremendous talent and a helluva workhorse - current day Eddie George - but if there is a better all-around football player than Elliot, I've yet to see him....how many stud running backs have highlight reels made of them blocking???? He may be the best all-purpose back we've ever had.....imo only Keith Byars, Hop Cassady and perhaps Clarett are even in the discussion....[edit] I'd have to include Robert Smith as well. I'd be surprised if Zeke isn't the first back taken in the draft.

Re: Bosa....he's going to be a non-factor in this game. The chasm in the middle from the loss of our whore-mongering All-American DT and his running buddy, our top two 2 DT's, is going to force them to move Bosa inside quite a bit leaving only walk-ons and intramural players to fill the holes on the ends or in the middle when he has to play outside.....he is nowhere near the player in the middle...wrong body-type, he is nothing but undersized and out of position there, not a force, not a threat, nada nada......I'd be shocked if we hold the Irish under 550 yards of total offense.

This game can't be over soon enough for me. The goal of this team was to repeat, anything short a letdown ....with perhaps a dozen players or more heading to the NFL, the entire upperclass roster is vastly more concerned about staying healthy for the Combine than playing in a bowl game not part of the final 4. Not sure if I'm even gonna watch.....its a disaster waiting to happen for us Buckeye fans. Maybe I'll tape it so I can watch it if a miracle occurs......delete if not.

Elliott reminds me of Emmitt Smith. But even with him the Buckeyes have a snowball's chance in hell as BT suggests. We're going to kick ass but we are not taking names. Terry is right; situation HOPELESS!

My comment about Notre Dame doing pretty well in Ohio vs Ohio State in recruting was a serious comment. Urban still gets the Lions share for sure...but a few leake out to the Irish.

ND has always done well in Ohio.....there's plenty to go around. Hell, M's two most recent Heisman winners, their current coach and their beloved Bo were all Ohio boys and half them and Sparty's rosters. We can't get 'em all, we're just happy to somehow compete with the dregs you all leave behind......

In truth, back in the day, Woody was one of ND's most valuable recruiters.......if he wasn't gonna get 'em, it was ND all the way.....anything to keep quality kids out of the hands of the evil stripeheads!

    Doom is approaching......

Notre Dame will hold its pre-bowl practices on the field at Scottsdale Community College, home of the Fighting Artichokes. :D

Elliot was in a minor accident in Columbus before leaving for Phoenix, he was cited for driving under suspension and for driving without a license. Does driving under supsension mean his license was suspended for a prior driving offense? If so other than DUI it's pretty hard to get your license suspended isn't it? I wonder what he did.

Terry, Here is what I found on a local site:

Columbus Police cited Ezekiel Elliott for driving under suspension, operating without a license, and failure to control after a Sunday afternoon crash before Ohio State' scheduled flight to the Fiesta Bowl.

Despite the charges, an Ohio State spokesperson confirmed Elliott's status for the Fiesta Bowl is unchanged. While some will point to this as further proof of Urban Meyer's renegade program, the reasoning makes sense when the facts are weighed.

    Columbus Ohio vs. Ezekiel Elliott
Court records for case "2015 TR D 134190" show Columbus police officer Jerome Collins cited Elliott May 13, 2015, for driving 59 mph in a 55 mph zone on I-670 West near the I-71 interchange. Though a citation for four miles over the speed limit could be seen as nefarious, it's possible Officer Collins reduced to the citation speed to avoid putting points on Elliott's license. It's also possible Elliott sped through a construction zone.

Regardless, speeders in Ohio are allowed to waive their court date by submitting their fine through the mail. Elliott, for reasons known only to him, decided to exercise his right as an American citizen and fight the ticket in court.

Elliott, however, failed to make his May 18 arraignment, at which point a bench warrant was issued June 22 for failure to appear and unpaid fines.

That warrant was cancelled June 25 as a new arraignment date was set: July 25. When Elliott failed to report for that date as well, a new bench warrant was issued July 28.

The second warrant, like the first, was cancelled on Aug. 4 when a third and final arraignment date was set: Aug. 14.

The case never reached that date. Elliott completed a diversion program and a plea deal was filed Aug. 11. Elliott's original $195 fine was reduced to $25. With court costs, Elliott was given until Dec. 1 to pay $132 total.

    Elliott's final play
Elliott, obviously, failed to those fines and his court was referred to collections, at which point the BMV filed a warrant block on the offender's license, leading to Sunday's episode. Elliott is now $162 in debt to Franklin County, which is probably a small price to pay given the headache.

For this latest episode, Elliott is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 26th at 9 a.m.

Clearly Elliot is a great RB, one whom I would love to have on the Texans but he's pretty irresponsible and not too smart given how he ended up with a suspended license.

Good question. I'd hate to see kids miss games for a minor traffic incident, even if they had numbskulled their way to having a suspended driving license.

Agreed TOK, Zeke surely played the dumbass card here.....not the kind of PR any bowl bound team or coach is looking for.

Moral of the story....59 in a 55 or not, judge don't care, pay attention and pay your traffic tickets on time.....dumbass

Dumb but not criminal. I agree he should play absolutely.

Sorta like Carlos Dunlap falling asleep in his car before the 2009 SEC Championship game with Bama except alcohol was involved.

Stupid move by Dunlap and that one though was costly as he missed the game and his pass rushing ability was sorely absent vs. McElroy that day.

Well Redfield was sent home today for violation of team rules, and Butler reportedly will be unavailable due to a stress fracture in his foot.

For a team already thin in DB's this is not good news for the Irish, but it is good news for JT Barrett.

Well, we see in living color how two prominent powers handle disciplinary problems.

Presumably , Redfield's issue is a violation of team rules and Kelly put him on a plane. The lesson: we have rules and if you don't obey them you can't be a part of this team.

Elliott broke traffic laws. Then he failed to pay his fines. Then he went driving on a suspended license which holds major potential implications should the simpleton injure someone else. I guarantee you that he was not pulled over for going four miles over the speed limit. He was probably doing 75-80 and when the cop recognized him he cut him a huge break. In the midst of all Elliott's careless behavior he embarrassed the university and Urban Meyer by trash talking him after the MSU game. Meyer should nail his dumb ass to the cross over this incident as a teaching point, especially since Elliott is taking off immediately after the game but Meyer wants to win more than to do the right thing so play ball.

This is not difficult to figure out.

<r>Yeah, I'm sure he wasn't pulled over for doing 4 miles over the speed limit either. sounds like the cop gave him a break and then he was dumb enough not to show up for a hearing, got another hearing, didn't show for that one and then again. I'm sure it's a great way to teach him some responsibility by letting him play <E></E> Oh by the way, I'm sure he's a great young man, just a little misguided and yes he's a hell of a football player and that's his trump card. Sooner or later he'll learn about the accountability/responsibility but for now let's play some football! He'll probably score 4 TDs and get 200 yds against the Irish. I hear they have a a starting safety who won't be playing in the game for some silly disciplinary reason. <E>:D</E></r>
