Oh no!!! Walk on CB Temitope Agoro has entered the Transfer Portal. He'll be a Graduate Transfer, He's a Mechanical Engineering Student!! Good luck to him, I hope the team can survive is loss!!
Just got a grad transfer from Northwestern, Bennet Skowroneck. A big WR from Sid's old stomping grounds of Ft Wayne. He was injured early this year and did not play much. But 2017 and 2018 had some good numbers
Skowroneck looks interesting to say the least: Brian Kelly stated Notre Dame's recruiting class could grow on the offensive side of the ball in December and it did on Wednesday night. Northwestern graduate transfer Ben Skowronek has committed to Notre Dame and will provide much-needed experience and leadership to the receiver unit. Skowronek racked up 110 catches for 1,417 yards and eight touchdowns at Northwestern over the last four seasons. The Fort Wayne (Ind.) native only played in three games in 2019 after suffering an ankle injury early in the year. The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder took an official visit to Notre Dame following The Echoes banquet in December. Stay tuned to IrishSportsDaily.com for more on his this pickup for the Irish. From the Daily Northwestern.. Football: Bennett Skowronek to enter the transfer portal Daily file photo by Alison Albelda Bennett Skowronek scores a touchdown against Iowa. His catch in 2018 propelled the Cats to clinching the Big Ten West. Andrew Golden, Sports Editor December 2, 2019 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter catch that helped propel the Wildcats to clinch the Big Ten West. For his career, Skowronek has compiled 110 catches for 1417 yards and eight touchdowns in four seasons. Without Skowronek, the NU’s wide receivers haven’t produced, but quarterback issues have also played a large role in the team’s offensive struggles. Regardless, despite missing the final nine games, Skowronek finished the season fourth on the team with 141 receiving yards and tied for fourth in receptions with 12. The Indiana native is the second wideout in the past two years to enter the transfer portal, as former Wildcat receiver Charlie Fessler took his talents to FCS Richmond, where he is the team’s leading receiver. Due to his production for the NU, Skowronek will surely attract offers from other FBS programs.
Harry Heistand is available since the Bears fired him. Of course if Kelly stays with Quinn it's a moot point. Another Bear who was fired, Mark Helfrich, is a name that has cropped up. Neither of those really move the meter for me.
HH was not a active recruiter, his last year when he left the cupboard was empty and Quinn had to work pretty darn hard to get some OL's for that class. I'm not sure a OL coach like HH is even the key to a better running game, I think it's the offensive design for one and also getting better backs. When we had Josh Adams the running game was pretty darn good, and last year when Dexter came back there was a difference, this year we had journeyman type of backs. Tony Jones was a solid back, but not like Dexter and Jafar was never healthy, and the young backs didn't really get much action. Just in ..Todd Lyght is not returning to ND. His family is out in So.Cal and he wants to be with them.
Just in ..Todd Lyght is not returning to ND. His family is out in So.Cal and he wants to be with them.[/QUOTE] Why doesn't this bother me?
Yeah I think a lot of people felt that Lyght was a liability on the recruiting trail and just an OK DB coach. Kmet will be missed, he's a good one. But that's college football, the really good players frequently go after their Jr year. But I like Tommy Tremble and Brock Wright, they have different skill sets but are good players. George Takacs has a lot of upside and incoming TE Mike Mayer could be a contributor as a freshman.
Tony Jones Jr, is going to be an UDFA, but coming back wasn't going to change that, he's a good college back not a great college back. He'll struggle just to make a practice squad, coming back wasn't going to change that and he's dealt with injuries his whole career so coming back brings that back into play.
