Deal is being reported to be worth 18 to 20 million per year.

Same mind sets that didn't like replacing the grass with field turf. I would ask them one question: Would you throw away $18-20 million per year - and dimnish our NIL competitiveness - to have "pristine" jerseys?

From an email I received within the past hour (See the AOL link below):

Notre Dame and SoFi Launch Landmark Multi-Year Partnership

Notre Dame Athletics and SoFi have announced a landmark multi-year partnership, making SoFi the Official Financial Services Partner of Notre Dame Athletics and the first non-apparel brand to appear as a jersey patch across all Fighting Irish uniforms.

Rooted in a shared commitment to building champions on the field, in the classroom and in life, the partnership will support Notre Dame student-athletes through the University's "4 for Forever" promise with scholarships, financial education, career development and exclusive opportunities, including the new SoFi Champions Scholarship.

Poor Sparty. Their patch deal with a credit union pays only 4M a year. I am sure that the deal my alma mater works out with a local bail bondsman company will come in far higher than that.

I wonder if any of that new money will filter down to our So Bad BB team.

I think in the case of the Irish, SoFi might pay extra to not have their patch on the men's basketball jerseys. :D:D

Terry, I think you're channeling Bobda's sense of humor. I laughed as hard at your post as I did at his post about the Bail Bondsman patch. :D

USC /ND are set to play a 4 game series. It's not a commitment to a continuous series like it was before it was canceled.

The Notre Dame-USC rivalry is officially back.

After what was expected to be a temporary pause beginning in 2026, the two blue-blood programs have announced a new four-game home-and-home series beginning in 2030.

USC will host Notre Dame on Aug. 31, 2030, before the Fighting Irish welcome the Trojans to South Bend on Aug. 30, 2031.

It appears that IU begged out of the ND games in 2030-2031 which opened up the dates for USC

In 2021, Notre Dame and Indiana announced a home-and-home series with the Hoosiers opening the 2030 season at Notre Dame, the slot USC will now fill. Notre Dame was set to visit Indiana in late September 2031. But both games will not be played, at Indiana's request, a source told Rittenberg. The desire to get USC back on the schedule in early-season slots drove the shuffling, along with Indiana's philosophy toward nonconference scheduling.

Riley gets his wish of not having ND at the end of the season. I feel a little for the SC fans who used to seem to enjoy the mid Oct. fall colors at ND. Also the traditional trip to LA for Thanksgiving is gone. Ironicly, the driving force between this whole change probably won't be coaching at SC by the time these games are played. Not the way his teams have been performing.

Irish hit the field Thursday. Freeman had a PC today

Optimism is very high with this Irish team.

Alot of "noise" about SC being a contender this season with a credible defense. Like Gip, I'm not a believer yet, but B1G Ten network guys seem to think there's something there. We have a road trip out there late October. We'll surely know by then

    Sorry to jump on this late...was out of the country for a while. Guy on the Purdue Sports List posted the following announcement last week;

"Wednesday morning, Ohio State signed an agreement with JP Morgan Chase to wear patches on their jerseys. The agreement is worth $17 million per year.

Not to be outdone, Notre Dame signed an $18 million annual deal with SoFi for jersey patches.

Rumor has it that Purdue is closing in on a $7,500 annual deal with Dave's Screen Door and Stereo Shop in Rensselaer."
