Well the 1st turnover was by a ND WR, but the defense forced a FG and Miami had a bad snap and we get the ball back. I'm pretty surprised we haven't run the ball more, definitely mostly passes by CJ.
We are being intimidated so far, body language is bad. OL is getting whipped and the DL isn't holding up. 7-0 Miami.
14-7 after an acrobatic catch by the Miami WR. Great throw by Beck as well. Miami gets the ball to start the 2nd half.
ND offensive line looked dominant on ND’s last drive but ND’s offensive play calling seems too conservative if Miami’s offense continues to play as they did in the 1H.
Defense so far has had a few moments for sure, but overall don't look like a top 10 defense. Not getting to Beck at all and WR's are running free on most plays. Need to figure out how to get to Beck.
Dominating drive to open the 2nd half, Miami up 21-7. Not feeling very good we can even keep it close.
After a nice drive to make it 21-14 and stopping them on 3rd down, we have a turn over on a screen play that was doomed from the start. 24-14.
A drive stalls with a intentional grounding and then a FG, Irish still down 24-17. Under 6 minutes to go must get a quick stop on Miami.
3 and out, check. Big play to the red zone, then CJ does his best Riley Leonard impersonation and scores to tie the game at 24-24. 3 minutes left.
Best game of the long Labor Day weekend. Irish clawed its way back into a game in a hostile atmosphere. Tough loss but with the present playoff structure, ND still is a very viable playoff team.
Don’t blame them. I feel same way. The O game plan was an insult. The D let Beck have plenty of time. Our O line is overrated. I think we have good WRs but how would we know? The second TO is on Denbrock.
