There are several interesting September games this coming season in NCAA football between conferences:

    Florida- Michigan
    FSU - Alabama
    ND - Georgia
    ND - Miami
    Oklahoma - Ohio State
    Auburn - Clemson
    Texas - USC
    Tex A&M - UCLA

ND is secretly part of the ACC (It's the Jesuits I tell ya) so the Miami-ND game is in-conference..

Yeah I forgot about that ND - ACC alignment.... but ND is still independent in football correct?

RE; UF vs. Michigan they are playing in the Jerry Dome as part of that kick-off deal in Texas.

Until proven otherwise it wouldn't matter where Florida plays Michigan because they beat us in every sport in every location.

Thank God we can beat Ohio State likewise because at least I get to hold that over a Michigan fan's head a little.

Tom Herman will have his hands full with that trip to L.A. for USC. I doubt many Texas fans think we can win, most just hope it's not a repeat of ND in 2015.

ND/Georgia is a big indicator game for the Irish. New Coord on both sides of the ball, new QB, potentially excellent OL with a lot of returning starts, a good RB and some new guys who could be very good as well. WR's are talented but only 1 of the potential starters has a lot of experience. It's the defense that will be the factor, it was awful last year. If the Irish win it could be a indicator that we will be good, if we lose and lose badly the boo birds will be out in force with pitch forks and tar/feathers for Brian Kelly.

I like that UF/Michigan game it should be a very good one, it's about the 3rd year that the new coaches own recruits start making an impact. Harbaugh has been playing with Hokes guys so far, he's recruited very well so we'll see. Gators of course have to find a QB/Offense.

The Irish don't go to Miami till Nov, the Sept Miami game is the Redhawks from Miami OH.

But that is a good slate of games.

Oh and Ralph...the Irish are not a Jesuit school, we were founded by the Congregation of the Sacred Heart. :)

You are correct Dave ND is still independent when it comes to football, I'm just having some fun with my Irish brethren..

Those are some great matchups, the UM-UF and ND-Georgia games really sound interesting.

Of course I have keen interest in UF-UM but that Ga-ND game and Ok-OSU are two that will be really fun to watch from the sidelines.

Auburn vs. Clemson is not that rare but still it should be a barnburner of a game.

And FSU vs. Bama is a CF playoff preview to be sure.

Auburn should be outstanding at QB. They got a Baylor transfer named Jarrett Stidham. He had a great HS career and if not for the whol mess there at Baylor, he'd be on somebody's AA list this fall. He played quite a bit as a true freshman for Briles and showed he's the real deal. Gus knows what to do with a good QB, he's no Cam Newton though.

As far as ND to the B1G, certainly geographically it makes a lot of sense. But you can't ignore history and the Western Conf and then the B10 did a lot to try and harm ND back in the early days, so there is a lot of built in animosity from ND fans towards the B10 in general.

But culturally I think we are a much better fit with the schools in the ACC.

I'm pretty happy with being an ACC member, though I'd still rather be 100% Independent in Football with the old Big East being home to the rest of the sports. That was a good deal for us.

ESPN's football power index gives UF a 52% chance of beating Michigan,

Ha... that must be soley due to the fact that UM has to replace the whole team this year plus the waterboy and the cheerleaders... Lol.

Sadly, I can only go to one big road game a year, so I will miss the opener in LA.
I've been to the Rose bowl, but not the Swamp so the Gator game won out.

    No hog hunting this time.
I think I have Ralph and Ginger talked into at least coming up for dinner or some other entertainment a day or two.
Anyone else who can meet up in central Florida around Oct 14 is welcome to join!

We've got LSU and Tenn coming in this year Scott and I gave up my season tickets so I'm not sure how A&M may fit into my single games selected for this season.

I do think a good and excited crowd will be on hand to see the Aggies..... never in my memory having had them in for a home game in the Swamp.

I'd be happy to get together for dinner or whatever. If Ralph can drive up there, I certainly can. Maybe Doc would like to meet up. I'd put him up for a couple of days and 18.
