    Can't get a triple Eagle on a par 4.

A hole in one on a par 5 is two things:

    1) A triple Eagle
    2) Shouldn't be a par 5

NOBODY DID IT BETTER THAN THE CORNHUSKER IN 1965, CONSIDERING HE WAS PLAYING EITHER A PERSIMMON OR A LAMINATE.

How long was the world's longest hole-in-one?

Believe it or not on July 04 2002 at the Green Valley Ranch Golf Club Michael J. Crean of Denver, CO stepped up to the tee on the par 5 517 yard 9th hole and clobbered the ball. The ball flew and flew and rolled and fell right into the cup, but the hole must have been a dogleg and he cut the corner as it is not recognized as the longest hole-in-one.

The official world's longest hole-in-one occurred on October 07 1965 when on the 447 yard 10th hole of the Miracle Hills CG Robert Mitera blasted a 447 yard drive which happed to be the exact length of the hole.

Robert Mitera did not even know he aced it until he reached the green and the golfers ahead of him told him his ball was in the cup.

On February 13, 2007 Bret Melson, a student at the San Diego Golf Academy in Hawaii managed to put the ball in the hole on the 448 yard par 4 at the Ko'olau Golf Club in Oahu, Hawaii in one stroke edging out Robert Mitera's longest hole in one record by a massive one yard.

HH....those are THE most spectacular shots to be sure.

"I had a friend who was playing in his golf league a couple of years ago on a short par four...

He knocked his second shot in for an eagle...and lost to the other guy's hole-in-one."

Stu....how can that be topped with regard to the same foursome?

I agree with Gipper.....my ace was great but I would have loved for one of those 2nd shot double eagle chances to have dropped.

The strangest thing about all of those close shots I made for DE ....and this is a tip....

...no matter how far you are from the hole always think...what can I do...where can I hit it...to make it go in.

It's something I saw Davis Love give as a tip on a golf show once for chipping and he was dead on right.

    Always think....make the SOB....
