I just get bored watching the same team in the Superbowl. Same as Clemson and Alabama. I don't even get joy out of seeing NE get beat anymore. Now we have to listen to two weeks of Brady this, Brady that, Gronk this, Gronk that, Belichik etc, etc, blah, blah, blah. Snoozer.
I hate the NFL OT structure. I know people think the college OT is cruel, but at least you don't lose the game on a coin flip.
I find the games with Nance and Romo much more enjoyable than Buck and Aikman. I agree about Romo's insight. That non call in the Saints Rams game was almost as bad as the correct call then pick-up-flag that screwed the Lions in 2015. From that day forward I expect corrupt calls at critical times in big games. So happy for the league that the attendance struggling rams now get a Super Bowl, how fortunate. As to the Chiefs-Pats game, I would have loved to see Reed have the balls to call for a fake field goal at the end of regulation. Some risk but there were 11 secs. left and it was second down. There was time to throw for the endzone and still kick the fg. Of course the Chiefs had already gone for the FG on fourth and goal inside the 2 earlier in the quarter. With that D they were dead ducks if they lost the flip in OT.
0 - 0 after the first qtr. Rams have got a pick , a sack and a missed FG , but haven't been able to do anything on offense yet .
3 - 3 going to the 4th ! Unexpectedly a defense dominating game . Didn't think anybody could shut the Rams down so completely .
10-3 Patriots, based on what we've seen so far from the Rams offense I'd say that was the game winning score
While there were of course some bad calls, as there are in every game. That holding call on John Sullivan that negated a big play by the Rams was bad, and they were certainly letting them play in the passing game for the most part. But I didn't think the game turned on any particular call(s). I thought the difference was that the Patriots defense had an answer for everything Wunderkid Sean McVay had in his toolbox. He was outcoached, and Jared Goff was not ready for the big stage.
We need an appearance by BearDownRick to explain the brewing process. As I said earlier I had no idea that Corn Syrup was involved in the process. Plus if Bud Lite doesn't use corn syrup, what do they use in it's place? I remember Rick saying once that cheaper beers used rice in the process to save money, I forget what it was a substitute for in the brewing process though. Maybe reduction in the barley?
My thoughts about the game come down to the Rams O line which was just awful. The Pats were in his face the whole game. If Goff had gotten the protection that Brady got I think that there would have be a lot more points scored.
That's a good point, but they did the same thing to Mahomes and the Chiefs who like the Rams had been running up and down the field on most NFL teams this year. I think the problem was that both Goff and Mahomes are young QB's who couldn't handle what Bellechek was throwing at them on defense. Mahomes figured it out in the 2nd half but they stoned him in the 1st half, Goff never did. Or it might be that Andy Reid having a few years experience under his belt made enough adjustments at half time that McVay at 33 didn't have the experience to know what to do.
I thought the most interesting adjustment in the game was when the Rams coach had Goff break the huddle with 15 seconds left on the clock (Thus negating the Bill Brain from the sideline), and their plays really showed. The hold on the center and the non-call on the 1st fade pattern to the end zone were killers. On the Rams INT that all but sealed the game, I literally said to anyone who would listen (which is no one here) that the Rams should run a quick draw to Gurley. Sure enough, the Pats sent the farm, Goff was rushed and the Pats are Super Bowl champs. Had they run a draw, Gurley would be passing Orlando right about now untouched. As Don mentioned, maybe it's all just pay back for 2 weeks ago?

TOK, Bud Light uses rice. Here is a good article that explains why the ad is nonsense. https://thetakeout.com/bud-light-corn-syrup-bad-beer-super-bowl-ad-1832325904
