A lot of predictions that he and McGregor another DL from Michigan are friends and have talked about playing together in college. That would be sweet!
Also most ot the major ND recruiting sites are predicting Tosh Baker the 4 star OT that is at the top of Jeff Quinn's wish list will verbal to the Irish before the end of May. Irish only expecting to take 2 or 3 OL's this cycle. The loss of the Christ kid to UVA was sort of expected, but the loss of the Skronski kid to Northwestern surprised most of the gurus. Still plenty of kids on the board. 2021 is supposed to be the class that is loaded with top OL's.
Blast from the past, everybody remembers Bobby Taylor an AA at ND and an All-Pro at Washington. Well he has a son that is on the radar also named Bobby Taylor. They live in Houston. and he'll be a soph this year. The school he attends though isn't really a very good football program and they don't play in a great district. I hope he develops though, we don't get many legacies at ND it'd be nice to have some that can play like their Dads!
Well Tosh Baker, the 4 star OT from Arizona dropped to the Irish this afternoon. He was the top guy on our OL board. Hopefully we've got a couple of more OL's coming, as I said the talk is that only 2 maybe 3 will be in this class. Baker said his first job is to convince 5 star RB Chris Tyree to join in in the 2020 class.
Terry, Another great kid, best thing is he’s a Tackle. Notre Dame made a huge splash on the recruiting trail today when Phoenix (Ariz.) Pinnacle four-star offensive tackle Tosh Baker announced his commitment to the Fighting Irish. The 6-8, 275-pounder from the class of 2020 pulled the trigger and chose the Fighting Irish over scholarship offers from Ohio State, Michigan, USC, Stanford, Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Oregon, Texas, Texas A&M, Washington and many others across the country.
Arizona has jumped up in the last 5-10 years as a state producing Div1 talent. Not surprising given they have grown a lot in the last 20 years in terms of population. For out of state recruiters it's an easy state because almost all of the talent is either in the Phoenix area or the Tucson area which isn't very far. I'm betting that Tosh will be a 5 star by the time the last recruit rankings are out for the 2020 class.
Irish and Purdue have a 6 game series coming up, starts I believe in 2021 and runs through the 2028 season. The Purdue AD says that's likely it as the Irish didn't want to talk about game's in the 2030's. I do think both Purdue and Mich State should be on our schedule, not every year but we should still play them. We have Wisconsin, Ohio State on future schedules. I'd like to see other Big 10 schools, sort of have a section of the schedule where we play 1 or 2 games a year vs various Big 10 opponents. We have the 5 games committed every year to the ACC, then add in USC, Stanford and Navy and we really only have 4 games to work with in our "out of conference" scheduling. Working in the B10, B12 and SEC teams in the future would be a good thing. Plus of course 1 cream puff! BTW that Purdue AD, Mike Bobinski, was a baseball player at Notre Dame. Purdue AD says series with Notre Dame likely done after 2028
ND and purdue We just can’t get rid of them. We kick their ass again and again and they keep coming back for more. They have the most obnoxious fans almost as bad as BC. If it was up to me I would ban them from ND stadium forever. They dream they will be like ND someday but don’t realize they will NEVER be like ND. Drew Brees and Joe Tiller aren’t coming back and this ain’t basketball. Go away and stay away pu!
Can't say I agree with you Tim. The few Purdue fans I know are great. It was once a prime time rivalry. But I don't want them back every year, or MSU. More as a part of a Big 10 presence on the schedule. I would like to see a home/home with Iowa and some others.
I've known the young lady third from the right in the bottom row since she was 4. I just can't feel the way Tim does about Purdue.
FYI-I feel the same way about SEC football now that my son has so many friends playing there. It won't stop me from making fun of them though, but it does give me pause!
Tim is on an island and out of touch with how things are in Indiana. There may be folks who feel like he does, but they are very few and in a miniscule minority. I've lived in Indiana for 58 years, and I've never heard the kind of comments from either side that Tim posted. As they say, to each his own.
