JO'Co did you see the article about poor ole' Anthony Davis in the L.A.Times? Brought crocodile tears to my eyes! Poor guy works as a security guard and lives with his mom.

Yes I did and I had a good hoot. I especially liked the part where he turned down the New York Jets and Minnesota Twins, because they didn't offer him enough money. This from the guy who used to drive a Mercedes Benz to school that he claimed he earned working a "summer job."

    ........JO'Co

PS. I know his old American Legion baseball coach. He described Anthony Davis as the greatest athlete he ever coached, but not very smart...

Actually according to the article in the Times, he didn't finish at USC. I wonder if he finished high school! :)

Our recruits are running for the exits like the campus is on fire. Something is not right here.

    re: decommits
When you lose to Tulsa and get run over by Navy you lose credibility. This isn't like recruiting at Cincinnati or Jerkwater State. The kids who go to programs like that don't have any other offers. Kelly has to learn that the caliber of players that he's getting now at ND, all 3-5 star players, have other options and coaches who're calling them night and day to try to change their minds. If he had been taking care of business in a "rebuilding year" this situation never would have come up.

    re: Anthony Davis

Finish at USC? Degree? Anthony Davis didn't even go to class! Neither did Keyshawn or Trojan players going back to OJ Simpson (who can barely read or write) and beyond. Pat Haden was a notorious critic of his alma mater even when he played there over this very issue; and it was the source of his "I wish I'd gone to Notre Dame" statement when he was a student. He would get in the huddle and use dumbed-down English just to communicate with those clods and the fact that half the guys couldn't really read or write infuriated him...

Irish Ladies are in the Soccer Cup (Final 4) again, it's the 5th consecutive year for the ladies and the 6th time in the last 7 years. They will play the Lady Buckeyes in Cary North Carolina in the semifinals! Good luck!

When was the last time we had a lead at half vs USC? I'm cautiously optomistic at this point! :)

I can't believe it, we won!! We turned the ball over 4 times, but that defense played incredible. And what can you say about Robert Hughes!! What a way to finish your career at ND, he's forever the guy who broke the streak!!

This is going to be the greatest medicine since my surgery. I am absolutely ecstatic. Hughes was great and the Ol was magnificent on that drive. Let's face it. The name of the game is improvement as the year progesses and Kelly made that happen. Someone said conditioning and the training table was a factor also.

You know this team has had so much happen to it this year, injuries, the tragic death of Declan Sullivan, the unthinkable loss to Navy, the last second loss to Tulsa when we had victory in our grip, Harrison Smith falling down on the fake kick vs MSU, Dayne Crist missing most of the 1st half vs UM. That they would come together amongst all that negativity that was swirling around the program after the Navy loss and the Tulsa loss and finish by beating a good Utah team, solving the option and finally getting the win vs USC.

Sitting there after the Tulsa loss I figured we'd be lucky not to lose the rest of our games...go 0-3...Instead the team shows resilience and toughness the defense plays like I hoped they would at the start of the season and we go 3-0. How sweet it is!!!
