Changed my avatar to honor the O'Connors. They live in California as well.

    Consider yourselves honored!

Not sure yet, Terry. Probably the Irish in the low to mid teens. My only hesitency is that it is hard to get out of my mind that USC is no longer a dominant team after being one for such a long period of time.

 thanks george.... but Jim hates all California teams except the Dodgers and they are on the border line... well he does like UCLA depends on who they are playing... but he depises USC it kills him to go on campus to go to a ND game there/

Aha! I see. Maybe we should connive a plan to make him think that Floyd, Rees, and Teo have been declared academically ineligible and that we are going to get stomped.

The one thing about the Hendrix experience that really irks me, is Kelly saying that the kid doesn't have a "full grasp of the offense." He's been saying that for two years, but is it true? It's a simple offense...Little Kiffin was scoffing at how simple it is just the other day...and Hendrix is a pre-med major. He's one of the smarter kids in a school full of smart kids. I hope he plays more and more...

I'm honored and to show my appreciation I'm going to give the Irish all 20 points this week!

Of course we all know this will be the biggest recruiting weekend of the year, with a bunch of 5* prospects visiting and including a very intriguing one with Brian Poole a UF commit who is making his second visit to ND and bringing his parents along.....could we be getting ready to flip a player from the Gators? That would be sweet!! :)

Arik Armstead a recent USC decomit is also going to be visiting and he's a genuine stud. It's thought to be a battle between ND and Alabama on this one.

Also coming is another Ca Stud Byron Marshall a RB.

Here is what Coach D has to say about him.

It would be nice if there were a new Marshall in town. :)

Damn another Ft. Wayne product on the ND radar, this one a Bishop Luer kid who is one of the top LB in the 2013 class, Jaylon Smith. His brother goes to Ohio State but he says he's his own man and won't go to OSU just because the brother is there.

Sid...he's your man for 2013. You've done well in getting Ft.Wayne kids to ND so I feel confident. :)

edited to correct the kids last name as per Sid!! :)

The last name is Smith, not Bishop. He attends Bishop Dwenger's archrival school, Bishop Luers. I don't like Luers, hence I hope the kid does not go to ND. By the way, the last kid from Luers to go to ND, Jovan Witherspoon, did not make past the first week of fall camp. He transferred somewhere and was not heard from again. On the other hand, Anthony Spencer, formerly of Purdue and now DE for the Dallas Cowboys, is a Luers grad.

Smith plays RB and LB for Luers, who has a powerhouse team this year and is in the second smallest football class, 2A, in the state. I can't imagine another 2A school beating them in the tournament, which begins this week. What's funny is that it may be the best team in the school's history, but they won't be undefeated because the coach played an academically ineligible JV player late in a blowout game. Except for that stupid move, Luers would be unbeaten. They beat Dwenger last week for the first time in 8 years.

Jovan is legendary for parental interference. As a true freshman his dad believed he should start at WR, Davie disagreed and the kids dad pulled him and he transfered to Northwestern where his talents were also not recognized....last I heard he went to one of Michigans (Central, Eastern or Western I forget) never played much.

    Terry,

Thanks for the trip down memory lane re: Jovan. His dad is Roosevelt Barnes, former BB player at Purdue who played football in his 5th year and ended up having a decent NFL career with the Lions as a safety. He truly was a dad from hell who ruined whatever potential his sone might have had.

    Nice article in the helmets.
