Wow, great report Sid! Your investment in a Notre Dame education for Brian just keeps paying off doesn't it!!! Of course in more ways than just a cool event like this!! BTW 76 and sunny down here in Hilton Head South Carolina!! Greens in excellent condition. Terry
Fabulous, Sid! Can I come hang out with you? Sunny and the high 80's here in Hobe Sound, Fla. Very dry.. the water holes on the golf course are low. Flying back to NJ tomorrow for business.. back down here on Saturday for a week. Golf anyone?
Hey Gip, I forgot one of the most important things about the dinner Friday night. Ron Powlus asked about you. He told me to convey his kindest regards.
"For your penance, you will say three Our Fathers, three Hail Marys, and three Glory Be's. Go in peace my son and sin no more!"
Sid I almost forgot about Ron. Seems like Quinn has erased just about all of his records except the one for overtime losses. So while we're all giddy about Jimmy Clausen you have to bring up Powlus? I understand that Clausen is the hottest HS QB out of Cal. since Todd Marinovich.
Remember the SI article on him when USC signed him? He was the next coming....west coast version. What a waste, along with his goofy dad.
Interesting item about last Friday night that I forgot to mention. At the end of the dinner program, Coach Weis dismissed the players so they could go over to the baseball game and watch Samardzija pitch. After they were gone, he announced that the bar would open for the post-dinner hospitality. He has a rule that there is no liquor served in any area or event where the players are present. That may be an old rule, but it's the first time I've heard it mentioned.
