Leary would be a great get IF he goes into the portal. He was probably expecting to go to the NFL after this season which was going great for him but then tore a pectoral muscle and was out for the remaining season after the Florida State game. He may want another season in NCAA cause I’m not sure if he will be 100% in time for NFL combine.

Cam Hart to return for the 2023 season. With Morrison, we’ll have one of the best set of corners in the country.

I'd really hope that if we are able to get a transfer QB that he'll be able to go through the Spring. Which I don't think Leary will be able to do.

From what I'm reading the Irish are not done and might add a few more guys to this class.

There is also likely to be some "roster' management needed, something I really hate but it's the reality of competing at the highest level. We've had a few guys hit the portal already all of them were kids who were either outside the 2 deep and/or have been recruited over. One of the posters on ND Nation posted an evaluation of the roster going forward and there is no way we can fit everybody in the 85. So there will be some conversations and players will be leaving.

Monday is the 1st day kids can enter their names into the portal database, and it stays open for 45 days. Already kids are declaring for the portal. No new ones from ND yet, but they will be coming as well as ND getting players from the portal.

We have been talking about the 40 year thing ever since that kicker dumped us for FSU. But I think it's done, the 40 year thing is only for the 2 deep or about 44 players. If you aren't going to contribute to the wins or have potential to do so (freshman) then please transfer so we can get somebody who might.

Terry, I just want to say that some folks on here really roasted Saban for what you call "roster management", although they didn't use sterilized term like that for it. Just sayin.

kp no doubt, and if you pointed a finger at me you'd be pointing it in the right direction. As i said in my post I hate that is what we've come to but it's what reality is. I also wonder how they are going to figure the grad rates when there is annual turnover of the roster that has nothing to do with academics.

We all want to win it all. Now we have a clear understanding of what the price for winning it all entails. Mega millionaire coaches who leave without notice. The best players leaving in three years. Paying players. Players refusing to play in bowl games. A caste system on the sideline. Ticket prices out of the reach of a large segment of lifetime fans. Anybody else on here want to click your heels together and repeat after me " There's no place like home" ?

Irish just got a verbal commit from Keleb Smith, WR out of Texas. The Irish may be able to move up to #2 class next week if they get a likely commit on the 7th from a 4* player. Hang on.... 3 weeks to go!

Nice pickup for the Irish and as Tim noted there might be more.

Reports are that Mayer and Foskey are out for the bowl game to prep for the NFL

Tough loss in a great back and forth game for the Irish women to Maryland in the ACC/Big 10 challenge. Diamond Miller with the shot at the buzzer to win 74-72. 1st loss of the season for the women.

The top OL in the 2021 Class was OT Blake Fisher, he was the first freshman to start on the OL in his first game in a very long time. Unfortuneately for him he was injured in that first game and didn't play another down in the regular season. That resulted in several games of experimentation at LT trying to find somebody to man the position. Eventually Joe Alt a kid who was labeled as a year away from contributing on the OL, he was a high 3 star kid. Now he's been named to his first AA team (Pro Football Focus) as the first team LT along with Michael Mayer. No other Irish on the list, even the honorable mention. I'm a bit surprised that Jarrett Patterson didn't get an recognition.

To the surprise of no one. Really gets you excited about playing a bowl game, doesn't it.

I get why these guys do it, but I don't like it. I really appreciated guys like Q.Nelson and McGlinchy who inspite of being projected 1st round draft picks, played in a meaningless bowl game and went out as winners and true captains and teammates.

Can’t believe I’m saying this and as bad as I want a bowl game win, for Foskey or Mayer to play in this bowl game would be crazy. They both need to stay home or stand on the sideline in street cloths.
