I had a talk with Tim. "What's the matter with you? Is this what you've become, a recruiting finocchio who cries like a woman? "Oh, what do I do? What do I do?" What is that nonsense? Ridiculous! You look terrible. I want you to eat, I want you to rest well. And a year from now this big shot recruit is gonna give you what you want. "
re: recruits who got away It's true that the class is not as good as we had hoped, but sometimes it's better that way. Let's look at two examples: 1. Taylor Decker is a three-star OT who always wanted to be a Buckeye. That's where he ended up. He's a good kid who picked a good school. I don't have a problem with that. The Irish Oline is loaded and there's more on the way. I have the feeling that this is one of those deals that will work out well for both schools. 2. Deontay Greenberry This is a very good player from my state, but a big part of intelligence is making productive decisions when confronted with choices. As the California Player of the Year with good grades, this kid could have chosen Stanford, Notre Dame, UCLA, Michigan, Texas, or Florida. So he selects Houston? Are you kidding me? Can anyone explain this? Was it because Long Beach State dropped football? Or was it because California won't allow a 5th year of high school elligibility? He said that he had chosen Notre Dame "for all the wrong reasons." Like what? A prestigious degree? Small classes? A chance to play immediately? National exposure and recognition? Apparently these things weren't important. He felt "more comfortable" with the players at Houston and some coach he knew there who promised him the moon... Schools like Notre Dame and Stanford aren't selling the moon. I'm not convinced that this kid ever understood what "college" is all about and why anyone would want to go to one. What I can't figure out is, how did Nevada Las Vegas miss this guy?
It is amazing how fast strident discourse transforms to the highest standards of civility after a phone call from NJ to Indiana from one of the Don’s lieutenants
Uh......Bobda.......Shhhhhh.........Step over here, away from the group...........(whispered voice)I don't know what you are talking about......Please don't say anything more about it...........
I want you to take care of that sonofabitch right away. Bobda sold out the old man, that merda. I don't want to see him no more. I want you to make that first thing on your list, understand?

re: Eamon McOsker At first glance, I was shocked that this kid was available, but then I realized that some people just have to follow their dream no matter what, and that's probably the case here. Eamon McOsker is a real playmaker and I'm sure he could have had a scholarship to many schools. Boise State and Northwestern have made a living cherry picking kids like this out of Southern California for years, but obviously, this kid has his own ideas. This situation is almost identical to last year when the Irish picked up Mater Dei's captain, Joe Schmidt, as a prefered walk-on. Well guess what? Eamon McOsker was Loyola's captain. He's big, physical and he makes plays. He's definitely a D-1 prospect as a strong safety and he has a great chance to get on the field by his second year and eventually earn a full scholarship. <object><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/rsDSOZvaNUw?version=3&feature=player_detailpage"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/rsDSOZvaNUw?version=3&feature=player_detailpage" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="360"></object>
LOL...what a clusterf&#k today at the Devonte Neal press conference. He'd delayed his announcement till today, said he'd made up his mind last week and scheduled a dog and pony show at a local elementary school. Well 600 elementary school kids waited, watched video's of this fool, etc...but he didn't show because he is now confused about whether or not he wants to go to Arizona or to Notre Dame. Now rumor is that he wants to go to Arizona but that his dad wants him to go to ND. After this I kind of hope he goes to Arizona, he's big time talent at WR and you know how RR like to throw the ball, so that makes a lot of sense.
LOL! I see that RR hired his HS coach, which might have been what caused him some angst. Darn that conniving RR, causing the poor boy to become confused over such an important decision. How am I doing, Terry?
Neal <r>RE: D. Neal.<br/> <br/> The kid finally came to his senses and signed with ND. Up until this evening I thought he had gone somewhere else cause I didn't see anything on any of the recruiting sites earlier in the day. <br/> <br/> What can I say, makes this year's class a little better and the meltdown a little easier to tolerate. Kid seems to be a good fit for the offense and even wants to return punts! <E></E></r>
