Stunned but elated. I thought Louisville's front line would be too much for us.

Thought B10 was a dominant football conference but we tanked the bowls. Thought we were down as a conference in b-ball but now have three teams in the Sweet 16.

The Big 10 is the talk of the tournament so far...

ACC other than UNC and Duke have not played well. Perhaps we were over rated!

SC shocks Duke and the rest of us.

    Arkansas almost takes out UNC.

SEC is 7-2 so far.... not bad.

ACC appears to have been seriously overrated this year.

Seriously Over rated for sure. Duke was on a roll at the end of the season and has essentially 3 first round picks in it's starting line up.

Parity at a peak this year.

I thought for sure the ACC would have 4 in the Sweet 16, maybe even more...but it's 1. Big time flop this year.

Close game with Kentucky got Lyn Marshall, the wife of WSU coach Greg, tossed from the Arena for bad behavior!

Last year or a couple of years ago, Iowa's Fran McCaffrey's wife who was pregnant at the time was ejected for behavior in a game with Sienna.

    TOK,

Be careful when mentioning Mrs. McCaffery. She had quite a career at ND :D

I guess it was the competitor in Ms. McCaffrey from her days as a player that resulted in her..ahem over zealous fandom! :)

BTW the B1G has flipped he switch in the post season, with USA Today ranking the Sweet 16. Wisconsin is #2 and Michigan #5 with Purdue #10 ...UNC the lone mighty ACC squad is #8.

edit: Bobda's link made me curious about Ms McCaffrey and the incident I referred to in the previous replay. I turns out it was back when he was the coach at Sienna, and it got a lot of play even in the NYT. I think Fran himself has had his run in's with officials even since that incident. Maybe he learned it from Digger.

The Pac12 had 4 teams who have gone 8-1 while producing 3 Sweet 16 teams. Not a bad showing so far. If Ball returned for another year, the Bruins would be pretty scary. That's a pretty young team with some more young talent on the way.

Pretty interesting stuff, Bobda and Terry, about Fran McCaffrey and his wife. I did not know about her background or that she was a former outstanding ND student-athlete.

I know up till now the stories of the tourney were the ACC failure and the Michigan run. But nobody was talking about 11 seeded Xavier who is now in the Elite 8 after taking down #2 seeded Arizona. The X-Men lost 2 starters and floundered some late in the season, but found a combo that worked and now they could be headed to the Final Four. Of course Gonzaga might have a few things to say about that.

BTW...of course Az was my pick to win it all.

That game (Purdue/KU) was pretty tight for awhile, then KU just exploded.

Both the Gonzaga and Xavier wins were really great games. at the end of the Gonzaga game WVU had he ball for something like the last 50 secs needing a 2 initially but then a 3 as they couldn't get anything to go but kept getting the O-rebound and eventually just dribbled the game out without getting off an decent shot.

AZ looked good up by 8, but the XU put on the stops and won the game.

It's Jesuit vs Jesuit for the Final Four!

Chris Mack has done a great job, lost his best player and PG mid season, lost 5 or 6 games in a row in Feb, and here he is on the cusp of the Final Four. I don't really know who to root for with family connections to XU and really always hoping Gonzaga makes it to the Final Four and wins it.

    Could this be KU's year?

I speculate that Chris Mack may be considered for the IU job. There's been nothing said about it, just a hunch. Xavier has been a recent cradle of coaches of sorts. Thad Matta and Sean Miller coached there prior to their current positions at Ohio State and Arizona.

Wow! Hard to sleep after that finish at 1 am.

I thought UF coach White made a serious almost game losing mistake by not fouling with a three point lead and 6 seconds to go in regulation.

Cheese bailed him out..... Go Gators!!!
