NCAA Looking into Miami's relationship with Ponzi scheme

Orlando Magic coach Stan Van Gundy speaks out on the hypocrisy on college campuses in this article. Probably about as close to how I feel than any other comment I have heard.

There is a lot of truth in what he says.

But I don't think his solution at the end of the article would work. There would be a real unbalance with the richer schools dominating more than now.

I wish I had answers but I don't.

 

I agree Bill, his solution is not the answer to the problem but I appreciate him stating the obvious.

 

There are inherent values in any university. Why do some get in constant scrapes while others do not?

In order to attract top talent many schools have dumbed down their own admissions requirements. They have ridiculous curriculums for tailored for kids who have no business being in institutions of higher learning. In other words, all the movement has been on the part of the schools to the point where it is now often laughable. Why not force the athletes to be normal students if they want to play ball for that school?

I don't mean to preach but when you look and listen to some of these 18 year old celebrities you wonder how they can make it through a day without hurting themselves.
