This would have been fun if Gonzo was here and Ralph was not. Ralph is too nice a guy for me to make any derogatory comment on this.

Tennessee needs some good fans Ralph!

Terry, I just read the article on Robert Marve. My reaction......WHOA!

Ralph, I and the others here have too much respect for you to rub it in. I think we've all learned over the years that no program is exempt from the stupid conduct of young student athletes.

Well obviously I'm the only one who remembers when the "U" bombed Pearl Harbor, or when they invaded Kuwait?.

I don't forget or forgive as easy as the rest...so excuse me if I don't hold hands with the rest of ya.

As always, no offense to Ralph (No defense for that matter :p )...now go work on that noose.

On other fronts, Terelle Pryor's lawyer says that Pryor committed more violations.

That was my thoughts exactly. What a bum deal for the new coach.

Unless we are all wrong us Gator fans love Jeremy Foley.......because he is a no ******** AD.

From Steve Spurrier through Urban we have been blessed with coaches that wanted to win but knew Jeremy would kick their ass out if UF got into NCAA hot water.

Aubrey Hill is under some severe scrutiny right now I'll guarantee you.

<t>Well you all know I don't care for Miami but I don't wish the type of stuff that's gonna happen to them on anybody. This is a mess. I just feel sorry for their fans.</t>

Regarding Marve...Reports when he transferred were that he had some behavioral problems at Miami...but since arriving he has been a model citizen and seems like a good kid from all the reports I see. I hope this doesn't bite him. Right now he may be only looking at limited playing time anyhow given that his "good" knee has now gone bad, and the other QB's seem to be coming on.

Anybody notice how every article has to mention the price tag of Shapiro's Beach House?..."provided Food, drinks and entertainment at Shapiro’s $6 million Miami Beach mansion on multiple occasions."...

Translation...the kid went to a couple of parties at Shapiro's party house.

    Anyhow:

    Regarding Pryor...

I don't really get it. Seems like lawyer stuff to try to argue whether or not he would have been eligible to play for OSU had he not been kicked out (urged to leave, whatever).

Not sure what OSU's purpose in denying it would be unless they were asked and really didn't know about it...after all, the allegation was that he turned information over to the NCAA so if true, it would kind of be hard for OSU to hide that from the NCAA, would it not?

Maybe the argument is about what exactly he turned over to them.

What did we know, and when did we know it. (sigh)

Stu, my understanding is that this is all related to getting TP eligible for the supplemental which - this just in, TP has been ruled eligible but the commish indicated that there is evidence that TP and his advisors tried to undermine/shimmy sham the supplemental draft rules and as a penalty, will not be eligible to practice or participate with any team that drafts him until after the 5th game of the season...... geezus, I guess some just don't learn.....what can you say?

NCAA has cleared Robt Marve (Purdue) and Orson Charles (UGa) who were both named by Shapiro as recieving extra benefits. I have to assume that the sheer number of players involved is preventing the NCAA from moving on any individual player right now.

Same thing that Purdue said about Robert Marve and Georgia said about a player that was named in the Yahoo article.

I'm guessing that there is no way they can handle 73 players right now, so they are choosing to say they are ok at this time. I hardly think it means that those guys are totally in the clear though. Neither is Aubrey Hill your coach. I heard Urban Meyer say that any coach who had knowledge of this type of thing should be banned from coaching. Aubrey Hill coached at Miami, Aubrey Hill was named, and I am sure Aubrey Hill knew about what was going on at Miami.

If I were Muschamp I would closely examine everything AH has done to date at UF......which hasn't been a long time fortunately.

I suspect WM already knows Hill's routine because he is such a hands on guy but it wouldn't hurt to look closer and fess up to the NCAA if there is anything amiss.

Otherwise....if Hill is clean at UF and he gets read the riot act for behavior in the future I would give him a chance.

I have no doubt that UF will not fire Hill, just like UGa, Purdue, and UF are ok with thier Miami transfers playing. And this probably is the right thing to do, at this point all they have is the allegations of a felon and all have reported that their players have been model citizens since arriving at their respective institutions.

I'm just saying that Urban Meyer was absolute that if a coach knew that was going on and didn't do anything to stop it he should not coach again. Which I extrapolate to mean when Hills name showed up on the list Urban would have gone to him and confronted him and unless Hill had some really good explanations then he'd be gone.

Honestly I remember well the gonzo attack of Cane blitzkrieg on Skybox and it was the reason I took off posting for a couple of years because he had poisoned the air waves so bad it made no sense trying to get a common sense point of view in the conversations....

It's become almost comical to watch the fallout of the Cane allegations, even NPR news has dedicated a few moments to their debauchery...I am trying to decide who I will get excited over now as a college football fan and no matter how hard I consider it I just can't cheer for the Gators...

Well, the NCAA cleared Pryor and several other OSU players to play the bowl game last year, as well as someone named Cam something or other. Obviously it wasn't because they should have been eligible.

I've watched the media blitz here. Without exception, the media has been significantly more aggressive in convicting Miami at this early stage than I can recall at anytime in the past. I'm guessing that the sheep herd mentality has them thinking that they missed the opportunity to pounce hard on Ohio State, so they are starting early with Miami.

What I find interesting is that no one has thought to question the character of the accuser. I realize that there has been corroboration of his purported dalliances, but has anyone thought to examine the character of the corroboraters? All I've heard is that the Yahoo! is being nominated for sainthood as a result of all the hours of conversation they've had with the accuser.

There may well be a raging fire here, but I think I'll wait a while before I start making plans to attend the funeral.

LA Times going bat-sh!t crazy here...USC fans heads exploding...Trojans are demanding a reduction in their penalties, because those penalties were applied with relish by former Miami AD Paul Dee...12Pac's Larry Scott gone gorilla:
