I seriously want you to read this and keep in mind.. that while the players and coaches are all gone, the boosters and administrators are still very much there being deeply involved in the program. Even those who are banned or shunned still aren't too far away. Eric Ramsey Speaks of Auburn's Haunted Football Past And if you think I'm kidding, keep in mind what was mentioned briefly here by someone else. The FBI investigation into Colonial Properties... Bobby Lowder, Milton McGregor and Pat Dye.. all still around.
And all are still big time. Lowder got pumpkinhead bowden fired after some deal that involved his daughter I believe and Pat Dye is revered isn't he? I hear him on Feinsteins radio show all the time even though he usually sounds drunk.
All very well connected to the program.. Maybe Auburn is innocent? I don't know, I wasn't there. What I do know is that the main cogs in the wheel that led to their last probation are all still very much in play on campus and in the state of Alabama. Maybe they learned their lesson and changed their ways? Maybe not.. we'll see. I just throw this out there because everyone has seemingly forgotten that Auburn does have a history of this. Alabama takes a lot of heck about being cheaters and Lord knows they have some crazy ass boosters/fans, BUT institutionally... they are actually rather clean. It's the rogue boosters that are the issue. At Auburn, 2 of those 3 men virtually run the school.. So now we have a well orchestrated defense with the SEC and Auburn working hand in hand to preserve Cam Newton and seemingly turn NCAA precedent on it's head to do so.. to buy into this, there's a fair amount of black helicopter to it... However, unlike a lot of other rumors.. these guys ARE the administration. There's no denying the link between them and the school. Also, there is enough question here that the FBI is looking into it. There's smoke here boys.
My understanding is that the FBI investigation is directed at Lowder's Colonial Bancshares, a Montgomery based bank that Lowder founded was the CEO and Pat Dye was on the board. Needless to say the company had very close ties to Auburn and Lowder was on the Board of Trustees and headed the Finance Committee. The company became the subject of a Justice Dept investigation and then subsequently failed and was absorbed by BB&T in 2009. Coincidentally, I was trying to arrange some transactions with Colonial at the time of their failure.....totally unrelated to their demise however!! My comments on the subject were from usually reliable guys but still not established as fact and no more than mere rumor at present, was that in the process of the investigation into Colonial, the FBI has discovered information potentially devastating to the Auburn athletic program but not necessarily related to the Newton situation.....
One person who is not happy with this Cam Newton business is USC Athletic Director Pat Haden... http://www.latimes.com/sports/college/usc/la-sp-1202-usc-football-20101202,0,2907671.story
ouch As someone who has taken and passed conference and NCAA certification tests as a recruiter, I know this to be fact. He ain't lyin. That's a question on the GD test.
8) Galippo is another fine Catholic school kid from Servite HS who almost derailed us the other night. Like Haden, rumor has it that he's sorry he didn't go to Notre Dame when they offered. Little Kiffin hates him...
