No doubt there is some rivalry inspired rhetoric, but the Wisky Weenie has a penchant for saying and doing things like electing to go for 2 up by 25 in the 4th quarter against Minny with 4 minutes to go that will get him a few votes in the weenie column as well.....
Hey...put up or shut up. If he is unhappy with something spell it out...or else keep your pie hole closed. Innuendo. That's what you get for recruiting a kid that that talked about wanting to stay close to home right from the get-go.
Wasn't it Woody who replied when asked why he went for two in a lopsided game against Michigan " Because they wouldn't let me go for three" ?
This is a funny take....Operation Bratwurst. I love it..... http://cnnsi.com/2012/writers/andy_...-recruiting/index.html?sct=hp_t2_a4&eref=sihp
With USC limited to 15 kids this year, it's not really surprising that UCLA did well. To me the big surprise though was the kid from Jersey chosing UCLA over Rich Rod at Arizona. It seems like that kid is built to run that offense that RR prefers.
Looks like the weenie just got the smack down from his boss..... 8) http://espn.go.com/blog/ncfnation/post/_/id/59114/uws-alvarez-unaware-of-illegal-tactics
Seems Urban has his fire back. Maybe some Big 10 school should hire Saban now that he's a proven winner, seems he knew how to bet Urban. Meanwhile back in the SEC a lot of people are laughing at that complaint. My opinion has always been it's fair to recruit until the signature is on the dotted line. And that's coming from someone who knows full well that Ohio State may yet sign Diggs who the Gators have wanted badly for a long time. If Urban gets him then we move on, the kid will be going where he wants which is the way it should be.
No question in my mind there are sour grapes on the part of Whisky and Michigan State coaches. Biellemia really looked bad when Alvarez did not back him up.
re: USC recruiting While the Trojans did get a wonderful class, there are some definite holes in it: Running backs: zero Defensive tackles: zero Total recruits: 12 The Trogs are down to just three running backs in the school after current TBs defected to San Diego State and Notre Dame...
Yeah that's going to be the USC problem going forward, the players they have will be very talented and highly rated but it'll be more like an NFL squad in terms of depth.
Could the Gators have just signed their own version of the Boston TE Party? http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=9&c=4&pid=19&yr=2012 Nation's #1 and #2 tight ends........sounds good to me.
Here is an article in which the writer re-ranks the 2009 top ten recruiting classes based on on-field performance in 2011. His version contains 3 teams who originally were ranked below the top 25....West Virginia, Clemson, and Wisconsin. The rest are little changed from their original rankings. Re-ranking the 2009 Recruiting Class
Sid, that is really interesting...not so much that 3 snuck in there but how well most of the top teams performed. Then I linked from your post over to Gary Danielson's take on the Urban Myer recruiting thing...he said that between them OSU and Michigan have 24 four star recruits this year...while the entire remainder of the league has only 19.
