Oooohhhhh Yeah! Stimpmeter reports between 13-14. Players are saying that winning score could be +4 or worse. I love it. 1 time a year these guys get severely tested, and it's great to see them react to shots that roll off the green that normally are gimme birds on the regular tour.

The Church Pews await!! Let the pain begin!!!

Jiffy, I know I just confused the **** outa you, so email me if you need me to explain to you in a language you can understand. :p

BTW, players to keep an eye on are Michelson & Goosen.

Did you see how many tree's they've cut down at Oakmont? I read that they removed 5000 treess, that it was so upseting to the members that they had to do it at night and have the cleanup and removal done before sunrise so they wouldn't notice the missing trees.

It's now the way it was in the early part of the 20th century.

I'm not expecting much from Mickey Mouse this week. Probably the worst tournament to have a sore wrist is the US Open. The rough is usually close to knee high and even those bionic mashers on the tour have a tough time with it with uninjured joints.
Retif on the other hand is always a threat. Earnie is overdue too.

Ahhhh but Gipper.....that means he'll have to swing the club easier and under control...think about it.

Mickelson......a bad wrist and Open roughs are not a good combination. Easier and in control leaves it in the rough at Oakmont!
    My picks.....
Furyk, Scott, Goosen, Harrington, and what's his name.....Tiger somethin'.

Dark horses - Donald, Sabbatini, Johnson, O'Hair, Oglivy and the fat boy Monty!

Sounds like a plan Husker....but our boy Mickelson is a whoppin' 153rd on the Tour in Driving Accuracy....but perhaps he'll rely on his legendary discipline and sound decision making and keep the big stick in the bag this week and keep it in the short stuff?????

    I think he's toast....

Tiger, Vijay, Olglivy, Furyk all clearly in the hunt....Retief, Monty, Phil all have much work to do on a course that doesn't give back many shots. Sergio......done.

Ouch.....Oakmont is kicking Mickelson's a$$! Started off -2 on the first two holes, 6 over on the next four! This golf course is going to be a beast today and on over the weekend downright brutal.....somebody's going to shoot 90+. ugh

Watching the golf channel last night the USGA was not happy with the greens yesterday and they were mowing and rolling them last night to give them some more speed!! Yikes!

Yikes is right TOK.....I watched Mickelson putt a ball right off the green - had to chip it back on to putt again! Ouch!

I was listening to those guys debate what the over/under would be on the number of four putt greens!!!!

Poor Mathew Goggin he has to play by himself while everybody else is in a twosome. I wonder why they didn't just make the first group a threesome? If they were worried that a threesome would back up all the twosomes, they could have just started them out at Goggins 10:05 time and then the next one at 10:25 as scheduled, elminate the 10:15 time currently scheduled for the 1st twosome.

Don't they usually have someone not in the tournament play with the odd man out? An amatuer or the club pro or someone like that?

They usually do have a marker play with a single. Maybe Oakmont is so tough that they couldn't find any volunteers. :)
