Actually there are these days, the interior part of the state has changed the last five years with Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Canada invading. Arcadia has been one of the last areas to be invaded but there are more retirees than cowboys walking through the Walmart these days. I live in Lake Placid the next town over and it's dead at the moment with summer time but the county depends on the snowbirds coming down and the economic impact they bring...I don't blame anyone wanting to get out of the cold to enjoy the sunshine...
https://patch.com/florida/bradenton/snooty-manatee-dead-69 Gonna miss the old fella, he was pretty cool and thought he was human..
My son now 25 was greatly affected by this news as we spent many hours at the museum over the years and Snooty was always a must see event before we left.... A little side note and plug for my brother who is an artist and has more talent in his pinkie finger than I will ever have in a lifetime. He designed the entire 2nd floor exhibit from murals to animal skeletons as it shows the transition from the central Florida ecology to the Gulf of Mexico. If you are ever in Bradenton Florida the South Florida Museum is a neat visit....
8) No I don't think it's ever crossed his mind to be honest, he's grounded with different wiring than I am...But I appreciate your thought process...
