I did not know how deadly these cute fish can be. No wonder the diver’s eyes were darting around. Pufferfish are the second most poisonous vertebrate in the world - Two Fish Divers
Yet it's considered a delicacy in Japan. From the article: "It is extremely expensive and only prepared by trained, licensed chefs who know that one bad cut means almost certain death for a customer. Despite this, many such deaths occur annually!"
I run a similar risk at one of my go to Mexican restaurants in MKE. The dinner is either delicious or delicious but an involuntary colonoscopy prep…
Tarpon have very small teeth that feel more like sandpaper. They are voracious eaters that hang around docks and piers where bait fish hang out as well. I was in Key West in May and saw them by the hundreds around the waterfront bars and marinas. They can grow up to 200-220lbs and 7' long. My father in law years ago hooked a big one here in the St. Lucie River fishing in a 15' skiff. The fish towed him north well over one mile. This tarpon weighed 25 lbs. My grandson caught it off the end of the dock here in Port Salerno on a live greenie just three weeks ago. He dropped the bait in the water and in this fish hit it within minutes. It sounded like a freight train coming out of the water. Almost pulled him over the edge on the initial rush. We had to hold him around the waist twice and it jumped three times before it gave up. After the photo op we put him back in and he swam off to eat again. Great game fish. No good to eat... all bones. They are prehistoric.

The winged guard dog probably is much easier to clean up after. https://x.com/yoda4ever/status/1692665425161572713?s=46
