We'll see how he likes pitching into that short left field wall.

A 6'6" left handed pitcher doesn't figure to get pulled a whole lot. I guess we'll see.

This day in History....Jan 5th. Has there ever been a more 1 sided deal in baseball?

On this day in 1920, the New York Yankees major league baseball club announces its purchase of the George Herman “Babe” Ruth from the Boston Red Sox for the sum of $125,000. In all, Ruth played six seasons with the Red Sox, leading them to three World Series victories.

So will this be the year that Jeff Bagwell makes the HOF? He's definitely trending that way having got 71% of the votes last time and preliminary results of polling voters seem to indicate that he'll make it this time. It'll of course be the Astro's 2nd HOF inductee.

Of even more interest will be the progress made by guys like Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds. Clemens esp is in that zone where he's never been proven to be a steroid user but highly suspect. He has been creeping up the list. Bond has been proven to be a user, but still seems to be gathering support.

All the while the greatest baseball player of my generation, Pete Rose, languishes outside. He's never really helped him self by the way he's gone about things. But there is no doubt on the field he's more than deserving of HOF status.
