On the field call was safe Sid, Giants protested that his foot came off the bag when he secured the ball, that it was on the bag, but he didn't have the ball then and when he did the foot was off the bag. Replay upheld the on the field call. Article on the call.... http://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/1124548-rizzo-s-foot-under-scrutiny-after-controversial-call-at-1b
The call was out. It was a bad call and a bad video review decision. Because I didn't see the game, I don't know if the correct call would have made a difference in the outcome of the game.
Moore is pissed off at Bochy...as he should be. Already plan on being a Tribe fan...gotta wait to see who the other is.
The beauty of the game is that there is no way to assume how it would have ended if Moore had come in for the 9th inning. Bochy has perhaps the best playoff record over the past several years of any NL manager, so Moore might want to re-examine his me-first attitude. Bochy was fighting for the team's playoff life. Sometimes even the best managers' strategies don't work out.
No. Moore was pitching very effectively in fighting for his teams playoff chances. Reward him with 1 or 2 more batters, if not finish.
Hated to see the Red Sox unceremoniously swept out of the playoffs like that. It bothered me more than the Yankees sweeping them in the final week of the regular season.
LOL...what's Joel's excuse for the Red Sox quick exit? I see nothing on his facebook page except taunts at ND for their schedule.
This year's playoffs have been great (and mind you, my team got the broom), and it's a shame that more people aren't getting to see these games. As for the Sox, they just seem like a team distracted by all the Papi stuff. This just didn't appear to be a very focused squad, and that's not taking anything away from the Tribe. The Indians are a good squad and they did what good squads do when faced with a distracted opponent, they sent them home quick.
re: Harper He will be OK. He's still only 24 and he needs to adjust to the adjustments. re: Final Four Blue Jays 1993 Dodgers 1988 Indians 1948 Cubs 1908 Somebody is going to be very happy when this ordeal is over...
Tribe wins...watched the last 6 innings with Gipper. Kluber now has 13 1/2 post-season innings not giving up a run. Had to work a bit, stranding 6 runners. Miller has pitched 5 2/3 innings and of his 17 outs 12 have been strikeouts. Estrada was magnificent...gave up only 6 hits (3 to Chisenhall) but the two run homer to Lindor was his undoing. I love watching Lindor play. Now Tribe juggles their rotation yet again with another injured pitcher. Bauer cut his finger working on his drone...10 stitches and now hoping to be ready on Sunday but Tomlin starts today. Tomlin's a hell of a competitor and is awfully tough but seems to wear down late in the season. Indians seem to be on a roll but honestly, had they lost last night it would look pretty desperate. Toronto has been on fire, other than last night.
Tribe wins 2nd game with another gutsy performance by Tomlin who befuddled a hot Toronto team with his curve balls. Now on to Bauer with his stitched up pinky. Francona says Cluber can pitch game 4 on short rest.
The last time the Cubs were shut out at home in the post-season was the 1918 World Series Game 1 vs the Boston Red Sox. Flippin' Kershaw is the truth.
I didn't even know that some Canadian activist had sued to deny the Indians the right to use their logo's and Name in Toronto. It was denied by a Judge so the Indians will not have to break out new generic uniforms. I wonder why this guy wasn't offended enough to file a suit back in the late 70's when the Indians first started coming to Toronto for games. :? http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/baseball/use-of-cleveland-indians-name-and-logo-challenged-in-ontario-court/article32392221/
