Astros have a good team Yankees had nothing left in the tank. They exceeded the experts predictions. Time to rebuild.

    Hey AJ,

If the Cards and Astros meet in the World Series, will your new Cardinals comrade on this board still be on your side?

Thanks, Bobda. Heckuva game. Arrieta pitched well, and the top two batters in the lineup produced all 4 runs. Now on to St. Louis.

    8)

The Dodgers evil plan for world domination is right on track. Yanks eliminated by the Stros and Arrieta takes care of the Pirates...

    Waiting for the Mets...

Benedict Arnold O'Keefe!!! lol... No question who i'll be rooting for in that series. It'll certainly be odd for me, as for all my life I have rooted against the American League, and even the last couple of years when the Astros were in the AL. But this year has started a transition year for me, probably rooting for who ever the AL sends to the WS. I'm still not there rooting for the Red Sox in the WS, would have rooted for the NL team, esp if it is the Cardinals, my 2nd favorite team! :)

After watching the clean cut, Madison Ave New York Yankees almost exclusively this year, I am curious who these guys are on TV now.

Tonight I watched the Amish take on the Norsemen. In the second game In think it is the Mennonites vs the Mountainmen.

Speaking of Clean.... Lackey aka Mr. October cleaned up the Cubs and DeGrom cleaned up the Dodgers.

Astros' bullpen collapsed vs the Royals....but I'm pretty glad to go into KC and come away with a 1-1 split. Kuechel is up on Sunday and he's unbeaten at home this year.

I'm guessing Chase Utley's new uniform number will be 206 after he gets drilled in game three. Or better yet, drill the SS.

That play was totally srewed up. It appeared Tejada missed the bag by a hair on the force out. Utley missed it by a foot and then ran off the field thereby putting himself out. Then the umpires botched the call even with replay.

If Matt Harvey doesn't do the right thing in Game 3 he better go in the Dodger dugout between innings. And believe me, it is very possible Harvey will look the other way on this. He is no Bob Gibson.

Utely will not play inspite of being eligible to play while awaiting a hearing.

Craig Biggio said he hope MLB didn't change the rules to protect middle infielders more, as a former catcher he doesn't like the rules that were enacted after the Buster Posey injury in 2011. Biggio was injured in a collision at 2nd base by Preston Wilson.

Astros take a 6-2 lead into the eight, and lose 9-6. Bullpen.

Cubbies are beating the Cardinals at Wrigley, game not over though.

    :!:

Cards and Dodgers are up against the wall now. LA is paying the price for not solving it's two biggest problems: a third ace to replace the injured Ryu and middle relievers who're more arson squad than firemen. It's up to Kershaw and Greinke now. If the Mets beat those guys, then they deserve to win it.

BTW- one of the Mets pitchers is a family friend. I coached against Addison Reed and met his father when I was coaching at Ontario. Mrs. JO'Co's sister knows the whole family and my nephew knew him when he was pitching at Los Osos High School years ago. He was a great power hitter in those days, but they converted him to pitching, because of his high 90's fastball. He was born in Montclair, right up the street from where I used to live.

Johnny Cuerto was pretty much in complete control. Royals vs Bluejays up next. Astros need some tweaking in the offseason.

I think the Stros have turned the corner. They should be a contender every year now...

Congratulations to the Astros for returning to respectability and for taking the ALDS to 5 games. Great performance.

A question for the group. Why is baseball different than the NFL or NBA when it comes to celebrating. NFL and NBA players do all sorts of stuff to celebrate a hit, a catch, a run, a basket, a blocked shot, etc...many times the event is really a non-event. I've seen CB's have a WR make a catch for 20 yd gain but they hit him and then jump up over him like they did something..dude he just caught a 20 yd'er on you.

But baseball, flip your bat after a homerun and it's fisticuff city.
