So Krebs are you looking forward to his return? http://espn.go.com/new-york/mlb/story/_/id/12337962/alex-rodriguez-new-york-yankees-issues-formal-apology-statement
He gets $61 million over three years to be a DH, maybe. When he signed his contract it was a stunning amount of money. Now it is rather ordinary. Just ask the O'Connors. Of course he's not worth it. Who is worth that kind of money?
Well Camps opened yesterday for the Phillies, Giants, Indians, Reds and Pirates. Quite a few teams open today, the Red Sox and Astros open Friday while the Twins and Blue Jays will be the last group in on Sunday. Play Ball!
LOL. Out here the Padres are making noise like they're going to walk right through LA and Frisco like there's nobody there. I wonder how they figure they're going to do that? They look like a good team that was rebuilt with players that other teams were glad to get rid of. Good luck with that...
CC Sabathia, coming off major knee surgery last year, reported to camp at over 300 lbs. That is at least 25-30lbs more than last year. He says he has better mechanics as a fat man. OK. Last year his fastball disappeared. It dropped from 94-95 to 89-90mph. When asked about that he rersponded that after 15 grueling years he will not be getting any faster. Iron Man he is not. I will set the over/under on his wins at 11. Losses at 9.
Last year he was noticeably lighter when he reported. He claimed to come in at 270-275 which for him was 25 LBs lighter. This year he is back to his usual "Kamala the Uagandan Giant" persona. Only now he rocks high school fastball. He says he is working on a cutter like Andy Pettitte threw. Good luck with that.
