The Yankees eaked out a win against the Angels in LA last night with a lineup of people I never heard of but this is a blessing in disguise. They are finding out what they have in the system and also what they don't have. I don't think Clint Frazier will ever see a Motel 6 again. Just stay close until the regulars start coming back.....
The Cubs are a good team. The Dodgers are in the middle of 30 in-a-row against the Central Division and some decisions have to be made... 1. I know that you all thought I was crazy when I said that we didn't need Bryce Harper, but please note that rookie Alex Verdugo is batting .352 with power. He can't just sit the bench or play part time. 2. As starting pitchers return from the IL, pitchers like Urias and Stripling are being moved to the bullpen in spite of performing better than many regular starters. Decisions will have to be made there too.
The Cubs are certainly talented, they are just a weird team. Let's see if the Dodgers bounce back here.
The Angels have a long history of having their stadium hijacked by locals who moved here from other places. Yankee and Red Sox fans take over the "Big A" EVERY time they play there, but they're not the only interlopers. With my own eyes I've seen the fans of Detroit and Cleveland take over and shout down the Angels fans who have come to anticipate this kind of treatment. I think they like being abused.
Gary Sanchez hit a grand slam in Frisco today that brought that crowd to its feet. Somehow the Bombers are playing at just a tad under .600 baseball with 7 starters out plus their pitchers.
You can find **** in the streets of San Francisco. It makes sense you can find **** in the bleachers too
This Sox team is going to kill me. Forget cancer. Forget degenerative bone disease. It's going to be the GD Red Sox of 2019.
The Mets have the worst pitching in the National League yet their record is 14-13. On the other hand, The Reds have the best pitching and their record is 11-16.
Tampa Bay is rocking with a +44 run diff, Yanks aren't far behind at +37, Astros are at +31. Charlie Morton who was let walk by the Astros is having another excellent year with Tampa Bay.
Astros 11-0 shutout of the Twins last night was a gem, Gerrit Cole was pretty unhittable and the bullpen didn't let them up. But that crowd, there was hardly anybody in the stands, it was like a Marlins games. Twins are doing well so far, surprised that they had such a poor showing in attendance. I read a recent article that says MLB attendance is down in a lot of parks this year.
The price of MLB attendance is going up I believe. I think for 10 bucks, you can walk in and see BvB or Mayern Munich play... I don't think MLB is that fan friendly, although I've admittedly not researched it. I'm just going off the few times I thought about taking my family to a Braves game.
Frisco was empty last night. Just a few thousand Dodger fans who felt sorry for the locals. The Giants are the oldest team in MLB and they're all on long term contracts so they can't be replaced. The manager will retire at the end of the year and the only star is Posey...who looks old and discouraged...
