Corey, with a robot they wouldn't have to ask would they. It would be relentlessly consistent. Today each umpire has a different strike zone and they are human and don't call balls and strikes consistently so it is necessary for the batter to ask. Not so with a robot, right?

The You Tube game was a total failure. I gave up in the 2nd inning and turned it off.

    KP,

I see your point, but I could also see the player asking the umpire if that 'was the corner of the strike zone?'' and sitting there waiting for a response that isn't coming.

    JOCO,

You gave up too early on the game, it started as a 4 inning commercial, but turned into really good coverage and a decent game.

I never gave up on the game, I gave up on You Tube. It had to be reset every two minutes and became unwatchable.

Indians seem to have found new life and the Twins are starting to slip a little. What looked like a runaway in the ALC is now very competitive. It was assumed that they would be sellers with Bauer, does not seem likely now.

Same for the Giants and Bumgarner who the Astros covet.

50/50 on Bauer. I think we keep him (and should) but problem is they can hardly afford him next year (he'll get even more from the arbitration than he did this year which was a lot). If they trade him now the "rich" team can keep him this year and next before he hits free agency. Next year he's high salary and only one year. I like Bauer. I like the whole team...I wish we commanded a bigger market. I wish we didn't have all those pitching injuries though the young prospects have come up and really done well (Bieber, Plutko, Wittngren, etc.)

Dodgers need two relief pitchers and I don't see any available who're better than what we already have. As for Mad Bum...... we don't care where he goes as long as it isn't here. Trade him to Mars. If he comes here there will be rioting in the streets like Rodney King...

The Dodgers have a history of NOT trading their top prospects under the current owners. In recent years they did not trade Buehler, Bellinger or Verdugo. Thank God. Right now, all of the other teams are demanding SS/2B Gavin Lux, who's batting .471 @ AAA OKC or one of the young catchers Will Smith or #1 prospect Keibert Ruiz. I hope they keep Smith...

Dodger Stadium to get 100M facelift! Amazing that Chavez Ravine is the 2nd oldest NL stadium behind of course Wrigley Field. It was once the newest and most up to date and glamourous stadium in the nation when it opened back in the early 60's. Since then a lot of new stadiums have been built and more than a few of those new stadiums didn't make it and have been torn down. Astrodome leads the way.

Dodger Stadium to undergo $100-million renovation ahead of 2020 All-Star Game

Trout is the best player in the game and it's not close.

Last nights Astros/A's game was case in point on how hard it is to be a MLB manager. Hinch had a pitcher in Wade Miley who was on a perfect game through 5 innings and was strong through 8 with a shutout going, but he was getting to the edge of his pitch count max...do you send him out in the 9th to get his shutout and complete game or do you bring in a reliever to finish it off. He sends him out and he walks the first guy and then doesn't look good with the 2nd guy, control was fading, and gives up a single, now 2 runners on and a pitcher clearly out of gas. Bring on the closer...who promptly gives up a 3 run homer. They get back to even in the bottom of the 9th but lose in 11 innings. Can't know if you don't send him out and bring on the reliever do we walk away with the win. It had to be a tough decision.

The good thing about baseball though is with 162 games and a 6 game division lead over a team that you are 7-1 against so far and have beaten handily in the last 2 games ...this loss isn't a big deal.

Shane Bieber pitched a gem against Toronto last night. 2 batters over the minimum. One hit (double) one walk, one HBP (which might have hit the bat actually).

Last year he made his major league debut on May 31. He won 11 games. This year is is the All Star Game MVP and 10-3. Not bad for a guy who started the year as our fourth starter behind Kluber (out), Carrasco (out) and Bauer (may be gone).

Tribe was 11 1/2 games out on June 3. Now just 2 behind the Twins.

Try watching Red Sox-Yankees? It’s a real grind

Very true. I'm struggling with baseball these days and these two teams are just plain difficult to watch when they play one another. Both managers are carbon copies of one another. All decisions are by algorithm. Slow play. Constant infield shifts. Home run or nothing mentality.

That NLCD is going down to the last day. There are no bad teams in that division.
