Cubs lose to the Brewers, will host the loser of the Rockies/Dodgers game tomorrow in the Wild Card game. If travel means anything Dodgers or Rockies will have to make a late flight from LA to Chicago, while Cubs get to sleep in their own beds tonight and get to bed at the regular time. Advantage Cubs.

They have to get on a plane and go to Chicago now! . By the time they get to the hotel the Cubs will already be asleep in their own beds!

Rockies are earning a lot of frequent flyer miles. Finished the season in Washington on Sunday. Flew to LA for today's tiebreaker and off to Chicago for tomorrow's WC playoff.

Meanwhile, the team with the worst record in the NL playoffs, Atlanta, gets to rest up for a few days.

As do the Indians, with the worst record in the American League playoffs...

One game better than Atlanta.... 8)

Indians also play in the worst division, the Tigers lost 98 games, the wSox 100 games and the Royals lost 104 games. So you might have expected the Tribe to have a much better record, they did get off to a horrible start though this year.

They seem like a very solid club to me, last year at this point I thought they were the best team in the AL and was shocked when the Yankees beat them in the Divisional Series.

Astros need to bring their A game or they won't beat them.

The Brewers are hot, but lack playoff experience. I wonder if that will catch up to them?

IMHO, two teams I wouldn't want to play right now are the Dodgers or the Indians. Sure, my Red Sox are a sexier pick, but the Dodgers and Indians can beat you a lot of different ways.

OK so who played well in Sept?

    rSox were 14-11
    Yankees were 14-12
    Cleveland was 14-13
    Oakland was 16-9
    Astros were 20-6

    Chicago was 15-12
    Milwaukee was 19-6
    Braves were 15-12
    Dodgers were 17-9
    Rockies were 18-9

Everybody had a pretty good month. But clearly Astros, A's, Dodgers and Rockies had the best Septembers. Whether that means anything or not we shall see.

Who's healthy and who has their pitching all set up..probably more important.

Yasil Puig did guarantee the Dodgers would win it all this year though!

Last years AL manager of the year, Paul Molitor, fired today. Fame is fleeting, but winning never gets old.

    - I agree with Corey. The Dodgers and Indians have a lot of weapons...

    - Yasiel Puig's son's are more mature than he is and the oldest is 5...

    - The broadcasters in last night's playoff game were the worst I've ever heard. They kept calling Joc Pederson, Jack Pederson and the fat guy proudly proclaimed what a lousy broadcaster he was. Two of those three stooges were former Dodgers...

    - The game began to an empty stadium. They never announced how to buy tickets, so fans just drove down and bought them at the ticket booths. My nephew drove down there with his wife and sons and sat behind home plate, 10 rows up, for $20 bucks...

DOC!!....not sure if your serious.....because your such a worldly sports type of guy.....but when the Cubs win, they raise the "W" win flag over Wrigley......thus the Harry Carey bit of "Cubs Win, Cubs Win".....so that's what makes Bobda's pic so special......for me at least. Since I'm such a huge Cubs admirer and all.

OK so they put the big W up, are you saying those were not cubs fans and they brought the big L to Wrigley? Did the Brewers fans bring it first and then give it to the Rockies fans?
