I know people do a lot of stupid stuff when it comes to sex, esp men. But Mel what are you doing when a lady who is a sexual harassement advocate comes to your place to talk about that subject and you hit on her? Of course he say's it was all consensual and maybe it was, but geez you're married and she's the wrong person to go after in the first place given what she does for a living. I don't know how they resolve this since it's sort of a he said she said situation, but I would assume Mel's job might be on the line here even with the 10 year extension he got a few years ago. Little head thinking for the big head. Michigan State football coach: Rape survivor charges sexual harassment
This story is insane. Tucker is married with kids with a 100M contract and hits on a gang rape victim who now makes a living conducting sexual harassment seminars? This is an Olympic level of stupidity and depravity.
Just what words do you use to gain consent to jerk off in front of a sexual harassment advocate? Something like “ Go ahead. What were you saying? Keep going. I’m going to do some finger exercises. Don’t let that interrupt you.”
Re: Blazing Saddles. I recently watched it again after many years, and it was just as hilarious. In today's environment, that movie likely would not be made, but I would never bet against Mel Brooks.
Tucker has been suspended indefinitely without pay by MSU. I'm guessing this is just the prelim to him being fired for cause once they complete their "investigation". I doubt he can ever coach again if in fact the investigation confirms her side of the story that it was not consensual. I doubt even Saban's school of rehab for coaches can rehab his image like they did for Sark, Kiffin, etc.

On the Mel Tucker situation, as to whether or not MSU will get out of 100% of the remaining amount owed or will they have to agree to some settlement. When the Texas basketball coach got into it with his wife in a drunken brawl he was fired but they reached a settlement and both sides moved on. What will happen at MSU? From another board. Tucker is subject to termination for cause if he "engages in any conduct which constitutes moral turpitude or which, in the university’s reasonable judgment, would tend to bring public disrespect, contempt or ridicule upon the university." Setting aside moral turpitude, MSU has a good argument that yanking it during a phone call with a university vendor who was hired to speak to athletes about rape and sexual abuse is something that would bring ridicule upon the university if discovered, and that seems to have happened. This is especially true given all of Michigan State's sexual abuse missteps over the past couple of decades. And that is based on what Tucker has admitted. Obviously if a jury or factfinder were to believe is accuser, then it's even worse for him. It is by no means an airtight position. Sometimes termination for cause is clear cut under the contract, such as when a coach is arrested, convicted of a crime, accused of an NCAA violation, found responsible for an NCAA violation, and so on. This is not as clear cut, and my guess is that both sides will have a strong incentive to settle.
Mel is officially fired. Undoubtedly, a wrongful termination lawsuit will follow with question being how much MSU will pay to resolve this matter. Michigan State University fires head football coach Mel Tucker
Don if the "fired for cause" stands up MSU will owe him nothing. Of course Tucker announced he is preparing to file a wrongful termination lawsuit against MSU. A move to either force them to negotiate a settlement to avoid the court battle or go to court and take a shot at winning. Doesn't seem like a very good shot though. He's admitted all the behavior that he's being fired for and the woman says it was not consenual, so somehow he has to prove she's lying.
